Most Influential Games (in your opinions)

Okay, so I saw a couple threads on this but they weren't exactly what I was looking for to express my opinion. I'm not looking for whatever Guinness says, nor am I looking for the game that most influenced you as a gamer.

I'd like to know which games you think made gaming what it is today. I would argue the following are some of the most influential/important:

Pitfall
Super Mario Bros.
Space Invaders
Pacman
Pong
Final Fantasy [VII]
Doom [or Halo/Halo 2]... also Goldeneye for starting the whole console FPS in infancy
Defender
Street Fighter 2
Virtua Fighter
Super Mario 64
Zelda: Ocarina of Time - UP FOR REVIEW
Metal Gear - Not MGS
Populous
Sonic the Hedgehog
Tetris
Dune II and StarCraft
Body Harvest - precursor to most all sandbox games

That list is purely off the top of my head and I'm sure I can think of additions (and I might add some later or edit the list). Anyway, so what do you think of my list? Are any of my choices wrong or not as important as I may think? Do you have a better list? I'd like to hear it.

EDIT: All games in bold are additions, while all games in italics are edits.

Probably Super Mario 64 and GoldenEye. They were the first true 3D games (third person and first person, respectably) and genre-defining.

I'd say The Elder scrolls:Arena due to the fact that there was not a lot of it about.
Interesting choice. I know nothing about it really; other than the obvious. Lemme do some research.

Not that your games do not have some sort of merit, but why MGS and Tekken 5?
I slightly disagree w/ the Tenchu games, but feel free to defend them.
Street Fighter II is already up there, and while KoF is awesome and in many ways shaped how subsequent SF games were developed, I do not think they were that monumental.

Barbarian

A one on one beat em up... on the spectrum, wow. had loads of moves and blocking, unheard of at the time, even had a one hit kill special move. I had the amstrad version. There would be no Tekken/SFII/soulcalibur/DOA with out it.

Dune II battle for arakis.

The origional FPS on the amiga. There would be no star craft without it.

After burner,

The first decent crack at some sort of flight sim.

Gauntlet

Action RPG with 4 player co-op and charecters improving with play time. Even coined the term "Gauntlet selfishness", eating the food another player needs just because its there.

I disagree about KoF not being influential. It introduced the tag system. And was far deeper and superior to SFII IMO. Still not as groundbreaking as Barbarian though.

Unexpected choices all around. Except for maybe Gauntlet. I'll do some research on Barbarian, but the rest I think I can agree on.

Doom for starting the FPS mania. Half Life for perfecting the genre. GoldenEye 64 for making console FPS a possibility. Yeah this is only for the FPS genre.

Also Pong is not really the first video game. The first video game is(I dont know the name in english but its that game were you need to make a line with X or O).

Total Annihilation was pretty influential and should still be. But fuckin' Starcraft came in and stole its thunder.

I think I'll go by genre.
FPS- Half Life
RTS- C&C
RPG- Morrowind
JRPG- FF VIII
Fighting- Street Fighter 2
Action Adventure- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Stealth Action- Splinter Cell

Those are all I can think of at the moment.
Splinter Cell? What about Metal Gear?
