I was just sitting, looking at my stack of games, remembering into years past, and was trying to think of some games that really had me sit back and admire what the developers had done. In this day and age, where every game that comes out is practically a cookie-cutter version of another game, the truly innovative gaming experiences seem to be few and far between. As such, I was just curious:
Out of all of the games that you've played, on any console, during any generation, out of any genre, at any time, which one do you consider to be the most innovative and why?
(I realize that this is going to take us all the way back to Atari days, but that's okay: people shouldn't be afraid of the roots of gaming. Respect your elders, and what-not.)
