I completely agree, most original surprising book I've ever read, I still get shocked by the ending when I re-read it. It's definitely in my all time top ten books. Try reading other ones by him like 'Against a dark background' or 'the player of games' or 'state of the art' all have pretty awesome twists (though not quite as good as use of weapons)Anachronism said:

Dexter spends the episode sending his wife and kids away so that they'll be safe from the Trinity killer, who has worked out Dexter's real identity. His kids go to Disneyland with their grandparents, and he convinces his wife to go on holiday to the Florida Keys with him and their baby son, with Dexter meeting up with them after he's "taken care" of some business. He then proceeds to track down Trinity, eventually finding him, and Trinity's last word are "It's already over", with a sad look in his eye...

Some very good picks so far that i agree with. So I'll just spend the time and say one i haven't seen yet which was The Prestige. One of the greatest movie endings ever.
Fight Club, when I watched it the second time round, everything became so blindingly obvious. Bioshock is another one, that was completely seamless.
That bit in Shrek 2 where it turns out Darth Vader was Keyser Soze all along, and that he was dead THE WHOLE TIME
Metal Gear Solid 1. The others were also good, but this one really blew me away. There are many of them in the MGS series, but the first one did it for me completely.
This this this. If anyone ever tries to tell me they figured out that twist before the end of the movie, I immediately dismiss them as a liar and kick them in the jimmies. Easily the most amazing movie twist ever.fix-the-spade said:

I didn't know what it was about going into the theater, but it was hard to avoid knowing that there was some sort of plot twist, since everyone made such a big deal about not spoiling it, and once you're watching out for that, it pretty much telegraphs it to you in the intro, even if you don't know what you're looking for, particularly if you've seen the trailers ahead of time.CJ1145 said:
For those of you mentioning KotOR, I was actually somewhat disappointed by it, because there was another RPG that came out at almost the same time with a very similar twist that pulled it off much better, in my opinion, partially because of a somewhat novel gameplay/storytelling mechanism it had.
Anyone who's played both KotOR and Baten Kaitos probably knows exactly what I'm talking about. It has the same "You're the bad guy!"-type reveal in the middle of the story, but the way it's presented and the way it's hidden from you felt a little more plausible within the story/universe and better integrated with the first half of the game instead of just suddenly and abruptly dumped on you with a few vague, jumbled flashbacks. KotOR's still a better game overall, but I thought BK did a great job with that aspect of the story.
