Greetings fellow escapists!

Recently I was playing GoW2 with a friend and we had just made it past the vehicle part and were happily heading along a river on a raft. All of a sudden! the raft plunges down a mini waterfall and shoots through a cave and makes a splash as it tumbles down into the lake below. We started to regain our bearings when OH HEM GEE! a huge shadow appeared below the surface and a giant monster shot out and attempted to tentacle us to death. We quickly improvised and dodged the tentacles to chainsaw them and eventually took down the beast. Still recovering from the extreme awesomeness of all that the game decided to take it all away and put me back on ground with some more cover-based shooting. POOP! I say.

EDIT* The point of the above story is that this game was exciting at first but gave that up to become cookie cutter later on. I am trying to find a game thats full of exciting events (such as the one above) all the way from start to finish.

So I turn to you, oh escapists. What is the most exciting, non-repetitive, linear game ever?

Thank you

well it wont beat that story. but i consider left for dead 2 to be a great non repetative linear game since you always take the same path but the specials show up at different times so every game is different. this can make the chapter easy or in certain spots almost impossible

Perhaps the other GoW2 is the best linear game ever?
Seriously, try to write things in full.
It's not as if the extra finger movement is going to wear you out (that's what she said?).
I would say Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is one of my favorites because you know you're awesome when you beat a level without dying while your friends can't get past the first monster.

Off topic: So a giant monster tries to tentacle you to death?
I imagine this game would do well in Japan....
