In any game what is the most random side quest? I think it is the random one in Fallout 3 where that old guy is on top of Rivet City about to jump I tried helping him picked the wrong dialogue option and he flew

It wasn't really random. If you move around Rivet City, you'll hear people talking about the poor guy. And if you speak to him anywhere else, he even says things that let you know he's going to do what he did. It was not so much random, as expected.
Though on terms of Random side quests, the assassination missions in Far Cry 2 are quite random. Some voice calls you on the phone and says to kill someone, so you do it. You don't even know who the hell the guy is.

In The Bard's Tale, your sent on a quest by about seven people named Bodb and they ask you to retrieve a bell for them. To get the bell, you go to a farm and an old man asks you to kill crows for him - you kill the crows and scarecrows start attacking you.

Anyway, it was a quest given by Big Head in the shivering isles expansion of Oblivion, you had to retrieve a fork for him.The Fork was in a Camp of Religious Zealots. Big Head has a shrine devoted to forks in his house. It was also in Morrowind, where it had the enchantment to drain all your magicka.
Although maybe ALL the quests in the Shivering isles are random, and so the randomness becomes expected...
