Has to be the spice girls...

So sad when Geri left... :(

But really now, i liked the one in mgs2, where you find out everything is just a simulation, and things start flipping out around you, and the npc's start talking to the player instead of the the player character.

For movies- Memento. Won't ruin it for anyone

for a video game, I would have to say KotOR. It makes sense when I go and play through it all again while knowing it, but I was shocked at least. And I won't spoil it for anyone that, for some reason, hasn't played it yet. Even if its been ages.

Also I should also mention
The Sirens of Titan- just because its one of those plots, in a novel though, where none of it makes much sense at all until the end- and then it all suddenly makes sense.

Dante's Inferno
The fact that it's actually the 1st of a line of games and will have a sequel! Gasp! Maybe it'll be a trilogy? Hmmm, a hack and slash where you play as a guy who brutally kills everyone he meets on a quest to redeem himself to a God, where else have I seen a trilogy like that?

There are others out there, just not fresh in my mind like this one...

There have definitely been some games and movies with great twists.

Hotel Dusk is probably one of my favorites when...
You find out that Dunning, the owner of the hotel was the man who made the famous 'Osterzone' paintings and that he was conned into doing more art by his former best friend, Mila's father. Bradley's message to Kyle about his reasons for betraying their precinct, and finally Kyle bidding the hotel farewell, with Mila tagging along. The bonus ending where Dunning's daughter, Jenny reappears took me by surprise as well.

Freedom Force 1 was pretty sad since
Man-bot was forced to remain in the great clock since he absorbed it's power and couldn't leave, and that all he had to do for eternity was think about how his powers lead to him kiling his brother.

Like a lot of people I did not see Heavy Rain's twist of
Scott being the Origami Killer. But I have to say it does make a lot of sense in more ways than one after taking the time to think about everything in hindsight.

Matthew Reilly. Author. I recommend him to everyone.
Anyway.
Scarecrow
In Scarecrow, when he kills off the main characters lover, after two books before this, and they were going to get fucking married. And he beheads her. With a guillotine. It was horrible.
Jack West
Also, in the Jack West books. The third one again. Wizard, West's mentor, once more in this from the start... Actually much before. Gets shot with a crossbow. Again, extremely sad. And fucking unexpected...

The radio said ?No, John. You are the demons?
And then John was a zombie.

More realistically, I'd go with Bioshock too (The entire reveal in Ryan's office).
+1 Reputation for reputable reference.

It's up there with...

"John Freeman... you got here slow and now i am zombie goast. you will pay..."

"Combines leave my son alone" John Freeman said.

Then Jake Snake said "I have lasers too" and brought it out of his pocket where it was hiding and shot the bad guy in teh face.

Well...the entire Metal Gear series starting from #2.

The non-ending for Halo 2. Are those considered surprises?

One of mine would be Metal Gear Solid 4:

When Big Boss turns up at the grave yard, for me that was a 'no fucking way!' moment and also an 'Only in Metal Gear' moment

Another one, a joke one, was Modern Warfare 2:

When it turned out that the gameplay was actually pretty much the same as before, only more annoying multi-player wise, I didn't think that was possible after COD4

What is the most bizar, or unexpecited plot twist you have ever been confronted with.

Mine was in Bioshock, when it tunes out that Jack was a clone...er...whatever he was.
I've not finished it, but thanks for letting me know he is a clone :/

I actually didn't see it coming when ashley killed wrex in ME1 and I was so mad, I dashboarded, chucked a chair at the wall, and then did it again.
I've probably been ninja'd, but it doesn't have to happen that way. (or does it? I'll let you think on that haha)
the third time I did it, I did it right, and kept wrex for the rest of the game, and killed her, so, yeah, that was some good times.

Game: A little-known point & click adventure game from Microprose called Dragonsphere had one heck of a twist in the middle of it.

Movie: The end of Jacob's Ladder.

The ending of Jak 3, when you find out about who the precursors, was in my opinion the biggest let down of storytelling twist ever. It sucked away any hopes of me taking the trilogy seriously again. Shame, since Jak 1 was such a good game too.

I know I'm riding the bandwagon, but the Bioshock twist was great.
i thought that twist in jak 3 was actually pretty good i never saw that coming.

the most suprising twist in a game ive seen is in the final boss of golden sun 2 and the ending i never saw that coming never.
