How about the game Steel Battalion's controller?

That would be the most uncomfortable controller ever, especially if you don't have a table to set it on and have to have it on your lap!
Actually that controller's not that bad. 'Course that's considering I have a desk to use it with, but the sheer awesome that that thing exudes when playing is incomparable.

I'd have to go with the controller of the N64. It was a great console, but the controller was a catastrophe. It seems to have been made for people with three hands and wasn't particularly comfortable to control.

Always wanted to try that controller myself, from what I've understood it's meant to be a Mech Simulator of sorts with how you control it which sounds pretty badass to me.

As for bad controllers... I'd have to go with the original Xbox controller, I have big hands but I could barely use that thing at all...

Captcha: nallocia already. What?

Dreamcast controller solely because the triggers were too far back and it cramped my fingers at the knuckle something fierce.
Try playing Jet set Radio for two hours.

Holy crap, finger cramps or what!

I am going to say every Nintendo controller ever except the SNES one. Worst one would have to be the N64 controller. I also think the Dreamcast controller was an abomination and the original Xbox controller...

I hate a lot of controllers. PS1,2,3 controllers or Keyboard and Mouse is the way to go for me.

Small realization... I think this is going to go along the lines of first is always best. I loved the SNES controller (my first console) and of coarse I will love the Playstation controllers because they are essentially the same layout. So if your first controller was Xbox (silly kids) than you will hate the Playstation because it's just not how you first learned how to play games. Both controllers are perfectly fine and do what they need to.

The thing I hate is that the Xbox 360 controller was designed to be the best Halo Controller ever... period. The thing is terrible for fighters, rpgs or action games because those damn rounded buttons. Play Bayonetta on 360 for a couple of hours and you will have those buttons indented into your fingers... it hurts.

One of my problems with that game is that I couldn't play it for less than two hours at a time. Serious cramping followed.

The way we accessed the joystock was that we almost completely ignored the D-pad. I don't know why they didn't dispense of the D-pad altogether and just have the joy stick.
They didn't know it back then. Remember the Playstation and Saturn launched with no analogstick whatsoever, so they build the N64 controller as full 2D dpad controller with an additional analog stick instead of the other way around. Given how shitty Dpads on analog controllers are (Xbox360, Gamecube, etc.) it might have made sense at the time. Of course, looking back it was the wrong decision, as only very few games ever used the Dpad and almost everything focused on the analogstick.

That said, I still don't find the N64 controller very unconfortable, as 2D Dpad controller it is pretty damn good and even in the 3D analogstick position it's not a big problem. With my now adult hands I of course would have liked the grip things to be a little further apart, but its not that big a deal. Playstation2 controller still is far worse when it comes to analogsticks. Also one really cool feature of the N64 controller was that you could use it single handed, so you could use two of them for single player games, Perfect Dark with Dual Analog was pretty awesome. Also part of the N64 controller is still alive today, sort of, the Wii Nunchuck is essentially the central port of the N64 controller with a few minor upgrades.

Anyway, back to topic: Most uncomfortable controller for me is the keyboard. It was never build for gaming, lacks essential features such as analog buttons/sticks, runs into problems when you press to many buttons at once and has a idiotic button layout that is inherited from mechanical typewriters on top of all that. It of course doesn't help that every game has a slightly different layout that either requires relearning or remapping each time.

Uh dude, I never said that quote. I hated t as a child due to the fact that three handles + 2 hands = DO NOT UNDERSTAND. Who is it designed for?

Personally I always had a preference for the PS model.

Freakin original Xbox controller was like playing with a bowling ball. And you could break your fingernail on the intellivision controller, so it was actually a health hazard!

Playstation controllers have always been really hard for me to use.
- Having L2+R2 is just so annoying grip-wise because they're not triggers.
- My thumbs never stay on the thumbsticks cos there's no way to grip or indent.
- The left thumbstick/d-pad being that way around makes it hard for me to use the d-pad.
- The controller in itself doesn't fit my huge hands that well either.

Xbox controllers have always worked for me no-matter what configuration of shoulder buttons or thumbsticks. Even the Madcats/imitation versions of them were awesome!
