I don't think the Dreamcast is as "underrated" as it used to be. Nowadays there are lots game journalists and reviewers who sing its praises, and it is getting the attention it deserves.

I agree that it deserved tons of attention and patronage in its day (and still does to this day). But now that it's cheap and readily available in the second-hand market, it's the console everyone wants.

Furthermore, if they started manufacturing them today and sold them for cheap, there would be a lot of people who would by them, and the hardware department of Sega would get a small revival.

DREAMCAST!

Believe me, it's the ultimate one of these, the most underrated console in existence.

*Runs off to play Shenmue*

It's too bad the PS2 swamped it though, it really was revolutionary and had some kick-ass games for it too. Soul Calibur being one.
This.

The poor Dreamcast had so much to offer.
Blatantly the dreamcast. Was a far superior machine for a long time. Unfortunately PS2 had more games... :(

I was a fan of Power Stone. I normally don't like fighting games but Power Stone was bad ass. The game I played most though was Spawn: In the Demon's Hand.

There is actually one more console people always seem to forget about: Remember back when everybody was clamoring over the Gameboy Pocket? Well the rich kids weren't because they had a Sega Gamegear. I remember it being basically a hand-held Sega Genesis with graphics Nintendo couldn't match until the GBA.

Well, apparently the dreamcast wasn't as underrated as I thought, so I'll say... Ps3. The xBox 360 and Wii consistently outsell it, so I think it qualifies as underrated. Especially now that it is starting to win the exclusive war...

From what I've read and heard around these forums, the Dreamcast certainly seems the most underrated of the last gen. But, from my own experience, I have to say that the GameCube certainly didn't get the love it deserved.

The PlayStation 3. Either it's got no good exclusives, (load of crap) it's too expensive, (in terms of online costs and blu ray player and bluetooth it's similar to 360) or it's not compatible with ps2, (if you want to play ps2 games, obviously don't move to seventh gen then.)
Everyone seems to hate the PS3.
Say what? Chances are that if you aren't a 360 fanboy, you're a PS3 fanboy. I can't see how it's underrated.
I can't positive things about the PS3 anywhere without people turning their heads and exclaiming that 360's or PC's are better. Everyone I know who is seriously into gaming uses a 360 or a PC, so it might not be underrated everywhere, but it certainly is in my community. I'm not a 360 fanboy, because I don't own a 360. And I don't think anything I've said could have indicated that I was a PS3 fanboy. All I did was state the stereotype some people use for the PS3, and show that it was wrong, and that the PS3 was a good system. Why do I have to be a fanboy?

Not quite. The Game Gear was a portable Sega Master System. In fact, when he Game Gear was getting games in North America, Europe was getting the same games on Master System. They had the same CPU chip and some of the games released on it were exactly the same as a Master System.

The Sega Nomad was a true hand-held Genesis that used Genesis cartridges.
