Most underwhelming trailer? I'm rather unsure, but most underwhelming game at E3 I think must go to Saw: The Videogame.

Either Crackdown 2 or Borderlands. Crackdown 2 because it felt like it could have been a trailer for the first game, and didn't tell us anything about the story/gameplay/features of the sequel, apart from the fact that there's going to be more mutants or whatever.

Borderlands was slightly disappointing because I expected to see more than a few seconds of gameplay at this year's E3. I mean, they had a 10-minute demonstration at last year's GDC, and it's supposed to come out this October. It can't hurt to show at least a few minutes of in-game action, right?

Both games are still at the top of my most wanted list though, so it's all good.

I heard so about Splinter Cell: Conviction. But when I saw Sam bust down a door with a shotgun and waste three (or so) guys like he was Jack Bauer i was like "really?"
he is one of the best agents in the tom clancy world, ofcourse he is like Jack Bauer -.- being one of the best is the whole point of the character
I would argue that the "best" would be a bit wiser than busting a door open while outmanned and outgunned.

IMO the Splinter Cell games thrived on clever and subtle ways to take out your enemies. Nothing beat the fealing of wasting all your enemies and leaving an area as if you were never there. That's what the "best" do. Idk, but to me that scene seemed a little bit too out-of-character for the game.

Im syked for Prototype as an answer to Infamous but it looks kinda lacking in depth. As for Assassins Creed 2, I loved the "gun" at the end, he twists a dial on his gauntlet and shoots the blade, its increased technology in a new age, Ezio is friends with Davinci and whatnot. Its cool, lame in a way but cool. I dont expect at all that that game will be all about shooting blades at people, my guess is it'll be something gained far into the game, or only used now and then. A.C wasnt varied enough. This looks exciting.

I don't see any problem with guns in Assassins creed, remember, guns were shitty back then. You would only have one shot then the laborious process of reloading, so it's more for getting a really quick and desperate kill to save your ass.
I don't take issue with the gun itself, but, given the dramatic atmosphere and all the build-up to that kill, I was expecting something perhaps a bit more flashy. As it stands, the trailer only gets 2 out of a possible 5 Michael Bays from me.

I wouldn't count teasers as a part of the ones being listed but that's just me

they do their job, but trailers are the ones that need to deliver

as for gameplay, if I'm not interested in the genre/concept showing actual gameplay doesn't necessarily overwhelm me much anyway

Golden Sun Ds. Like I think it's great and all, but the trailer just didn't have much to it. Oh well, it's probably early in development anyway.

Alan Wake.

How long ago did they announce that? What have they been working on since?
Gameplay? It's a game where you aim a flashlight at shadows in order to scare them off.. real intense gameplay, am I right?
Story? You play as a writer who's wife went missing in a small New England town, and who's story is coming to life.. Real original, if you haven't read Stephen King or played Silent Hill 2.

Most of them made a half decent feeling, not cause they were bad or so... just that it will take about 3 years before half of them are finished. Knowing that makes me a sad panda
