Most unfair fight against me?

Most of the Final Fantasy optional bosses come to mind. Also, Lou from GH3. Fuck that guy.

Most unfair fight for the enemy?

When I play with my level 1 friends in Borderlands with my level 61 character. Double Anarchy = I don't even aim. Hold the trigger and everything in front of me becomes bullets and death.

You have to run up to them and press the action button. I think it's square on PS3 and X on 360. I got it straight away, but only because I had read several threads on the net about the problem.

OT: I reckon Minesweeper is a really unfair fight. It's all good until it forces you to guess. I hate that so much. It's like using your supreme fighting skills to take down a boss then the entire fight comes down to a game of chance.

They Reaper when you first start playing Persona 3 fes and persona 4. If you spend ten minutes into a single floor to stat build and attack golden shadows, a level 80 monstrosity with high chance of instant death dark attacks and heavy hitting physical attacks comes to punish you for it. Yes, I'm in firm believe the game hates you,s ince I wouldnt even ttry to take the guy till your character is level 65 and your persona are all higher then that.

And the guy gets an instant attack advantage... so there's that.

I bought Persona 3 a few days ago. I was on floor 3, then went and had dinner. Forgot to pause it. When I got back, that bastard was standing over my character with the other 2 dead in the background. I was wondering what was going on.

I couldnt do this, then my fried gave me some pointers after he tried it for 5 or so hours. so i played it and did the barrel thing, told him about it. Turns out he just ran to the right and headed off, without touching the barrels.

shin akuma in capcom vs snk 2. this guy is rediculously unfair, most of the time i have to cheat to win, ie spam with ariel fireballs.

OT- The final boss fight in Shinobi on the Sega Genesis. I'm not sure if it was the MOST unfair, but man it did suck...

Unfair for the player:

Resonnance of fate, chapter 11 Boss Battle.

You have only one character instead of three, he teleports behind you when you shoot him, avoidind damage and make a 5 hits combo draining almost all your health.
You can't carry healing items in this battle, and the protections you should use rarely works.
He can be hit when he do a specific attack, but his attack pattern is random.
It's one of thoses battles where you win when the game feels like letting you win...


Unfair for the ennemy:

Almost every boss battle in Bayonetta.
These things are bigger than buildings, and do less damage than most of the normal ennemies.
And you tear their limbs apart as they are paper figure dolls.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet:

Metal Gear Solid: Snake with a SOCOM and perhaps a few stun grenades versus an M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank. Luckily for Snake there are some grenades lying around that he can use.

Also:

Metal Gear Solid 2: Raiden versus a dozen Metal Gear Rays that come at him 3 at a time and just never seem to stop coming.

Well, thats what happened. If you stay on any floor at any level for over ten minutes or if you kill too many golden shadows (you may not have seen those yet, or at least not many), He'll come after you too.

Any Boss in any game where they have an attack that can attack you faster than you can get up. Lost Planet 2 comes to mind, bosses attack you and kill you because you can't get up from the floor in time.

Why are so many of you complaining that fights are impossible on the highest difficulty...

They're just REALLY hard, which they are meant to be as it's the HIGHEST difficulty.

Simply play on a lower difficulty if you can't do it on the hardest.

I had considerable dificulty killing this one boss in far cry (1)
he just flew around in a helicopter shooting his minigun at you. All the while you are standing on a sinking ship. You have to kill him before the ship goes under because you're dead if you're caught in the water.
I tried swimming to land: he got me before I reached it
I tried finding a boat: all of them mysteriously exploded when he arrived
I tried shooting rockets at him: the helicopter pilot dodged them all.

In the end I found out he didn't dodge rifle grenades so I shot a few of those at him until he died.

(also Call of Duty world at war and black ops, zombie mode is pretty much an imposible fight too. No matter what you die.)

especially gigadeath who you're practically forced to fight with a bow that takes forever to charge and is a pain to aim over lon distances

Going up in Cook Cook in New Vegas was fucking insane, especially since I couldn't headshot him.

well if your a total douche and make all party memebers hate you, forcing you to do everything in the game solo, then fighting the Demogorgon in bladurs gate 2 throne of bhaal is....ahem, difficult.

Also Frank Horrigan in Fallout 2 if you try and take him on; one on one, like men! without the aid of anything: gun turrets,enclave guys,party members... good luck with that.

But in general, for me the biggest douche bag bosses are the ones whose health you chip away at for hours, and then they take a second form and suddenly rgain all their health.... i believe every japanese game ever made has fine examples of this..... fuckin paladins in WoW!

The final boss in Prototype. That whole game was garbage and then they introduce a boss with multiple one hit kill attacks block vehicles and impose a time limit on you. It was a frustrating fight for a pointless game that rewarded me with one of the worst endings of all time and served only to fill me with hate for that game and all the people who made it.

The 14th colossus in Shadow of the Colossus.

It's the one with the pillars you climb on and knock over, with the colossus itself being crazy small. It wouldn't be that hard of a fight normally, but if you give that fucking monster one single chance to attack you, he'll pin you, and as soon as you start to get up, he'll attack you again. Rinse and repeat until you're dead.

Basically, if you make one single mistake and fall onto the ground and get attacked by the colossus one time, you're fucked. Took me like two hours.

The final boss in Dead or Alive 4! She can do a combo that you can't counter or evade once you are hit that takes 70% of your health. She can teleport anywhere in the level at any given time, including while you are hitting her with your own combo. She can be really ridiculous when she counters your attacks. And the cherry on top of this "Fuck-you" sundae is: by beating her you unlock *drum roll please*.... a new costume. Just ONE new costume, so to unlock the whole set for ONE character you have to beat her again, and again, and again, and then two more times. Once you do that, you have to turn up the difficulty to unlock more costumes. Also, you can only get costumes for the character that you use to beat her, so getting everybody's costume set requires beating this monstrosity around 50 times.
