Shou Tucker is just creepy as hell; he really gave me the impression that he was a paedophile on the sly until it turned out he was something slightly worse. And Sasuke is just far too stereotypical emo so I'm with you there too

For me, the difference with Tucker is that he's a villain. You aren't really supposed to like the guy. Ed, on the other hand, is kind of a jerk and a spaz from time to time, but I thought he was an interesting character. Maybe it's the older brother in me.

I'm a big Gundam buff.

I HATE Heero Yuy, Releena Peacecraft, Quatre, and Chang Wu Fei. Heero is suicidal and just an idiot, Releena is a clingy girl who is has her head up Heero's ass. Quatre is a guy who whines about surrender and how he hates war despite the fact that he pilots a state-of-the-art mobile suits (and my favorite of the five). Wu Fei is the worst, since all he does is piss and moan about honor and such, then goes and blows up a bunch of barracks, killing men in their sleep and then gets all emo about how he lost to Treize. All in all, Wing sucks.

I love Universal Century. The only characters I don't like are Kou Uraki from 0083, and Eledore from 08th MS Team. At least Amuro Ray and Kamille Bidan grow up in their respective roles.

Don't even get me started on that chump on G Gundam. I stopped watching that show after the second episode.

Well, while everyone is mentioning animes I actually like, I'm going to go ahead and put the hate on Naruto, the whole anime. It's only fair. I have my reasons. How do I put this?

For starters, nobody in this series is actually a ninja, or close enough to one. Not the stereotypical always-wear-black ninja, nor the real and actual peasant-who-uses-any-method-at-hand-while-under-the-radar ninja either. It's alot of shouting and jumping and increasingly-weird attack moves. Well, it IS anime, but let's not side-track ourselves too much. I like ninjas. If you're a Naruto not-a-ninja ninja, then I don't like you, QED.

But if you want a central focus to the anger, let's just go with the pinnacle character. Naruto has the show named after him and he's the main character, ergo this is all his fault. To me, he doesn't have a likeable personality or actual redeeming qualities. I'd call him the decoy protagonist, being something of a comic relief, except there's nobody suitable to take his place, because other characters are unlikeable in their OWN way.

Actually no, that's not true. There are SOME okay characters in my book, who actually seem alright. But there's no show if the rest of the cast is lacking. Basically, this could've been alot better if it were taken seriously. And I mean ACTUALLY seriously and not just with bi-polar angst and comic relief. If the creator of the show/manga had done this to be, say, the equivalent of Samurai Jack, it would've been GOOD.

For me it's Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, I tried to like him as he was the main protagonist but he contradicts himself so many times and he seems to like someone one minute then turn into a completely different person and hate them the next. His irrational hatred and anger just doesn't make sense and sort of kills the immersion for me.

OT: As for me, I'm gonna say any side character when they have a whole episode about them.

You know those episodes where you just don't want to be watching a side character doing side charactery stuff.

Goku from DBZ. The guy has no education, no job, and no interests other than fighting. He's also completely irresponsible; leaving his wife and two children to fend for themselves not once, but twice, once to go train in otherworld, and again to train Uub. And dispite everything, all the other characters consistantly follow his orders and put faith in his hair brained plans.

For example:

- "Let's not interfere while Pikolo, Android 16 and Tien are fighting cell, waiting around here for Vegeta and Trunks to come out is much more important"

- "Let's send the 9 year old to go get the dragon radar even though I can move at the speed of light"

- "Let's give a damaged and fatigued Cell a free sensu bean, I'm sure my 11 year old son will no problem beating him anyway"

- "We won't need sensu beans on Namek, I'll just eat them all on the journey" (Yes I have been watching Team4Star's DBZ Abridged, how did you know?)

- "It'll be fine if I leave the Earth unguarded to hang out with the Yardrat, it's not like Garlic jr. or Freiza could possibly come back. Besides my mortal enemy Vegeta is there, I'm sure he's turned over a new leaf"

- "Gee this instant transmission thing sure is useful, you'd think in the 3 years I spent training for the Androids, as well as the year in the hyperbolic time chamber with Gohan, I'd have shown someone else how to do it. Nevermind, they probably don't need it"

All of which is completely acceptable and understandable once you realize one simple fact;

Goku is RETARDED. Literally fell on his head and suffered enough brain damage to reset his saiyan instincts as a child.

I grew up watching DBZ, but I think that needed to be said.

As for me, I've only ever really watched a couple animes. The only character I don't like that I was supposed to is Ed from Cowboy Bebop. Seriously, fuck you Ed. Fuck you.

Agreed with Misa from Death Note. I'll also go ahead and add (until you learn why) Asuka from Evangelion and Yuka from Elfen Lied. I just... really didn't like those two. Not bad characters, but Asuka irritated me and Yuka made me want to cringe everytime she started getting emo on screen.

She is designed to be a character you HATE for the horrible, horrible things she does to her child, C(h)rona. Her character is well conceived to be as unlikable as possible, and you can't help but want to give C(h)rona a hug and give Medusa a punch to the face.

Now, for characters unlikable for being annoying, Excalibur from Soul Eater bits the bill WAY to well. The whole point of the character is that it would take a hero to even STAND being his miester, but they reinforce this point over THREE episodes. AAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
