Shinji Ikari. God damn...If someone gave me a giant mech warrior and told me to fight monsters, I would instantly go "Hell yes!"

Then I have a feeling I'll hate Nanalee from Code Geass. And I've only watched the first five episodes so far! ...Oh dear...

Makoto from School Days was DELIBERATELY designed to be the most unlikeable possible douchebag in order to make it easier for the audience to accept the ending of the series
where one of his love interests (the one he got pregnant then publically dumped) stabs him to death, only for his other love interest (the one he initially hooked up with only to ignore in favour of the other one, causing her to lose her mind, until the other girl got pregnant causing him to go back to the first girl) to go nuts, cut the head off his corpse and keep it in a bag while she murders the other girl.
Yeah. It was that sort of show.
but it did work people did not like the guy including me plus you forgot to mention
the girl that was pregnant wasn't pregnant at all after the other girl sliced her opened
I did prefer it more than the good ending of the visual novel where
the two girls are fine with him loving the both of them and even talk of threesome during christmas and he got them both pregnant
yeah a lot better

Naruto, definitely. He never stops shouting, and he has way too much energy. He's an example of why I don't like kids.

I have two characters that are on my hit list. First is Katsuhiko Jinnai from El Hazard. Not only was he an arrogant prick who was power hungry, he had the most annoying laugh. Then there's (ugh) Ryoga Hibiki from Ranma 1/2. He was such a whiny ***** especially in the first season. He is the father of the outdated internet meme "THIS IS ALL RANMA"S FAULT". Aside from taking full advantage of his curse to sleep with Akane, he never thought that he was in the wrong, and never took responsibility for his actions - which is actually the same for half the guys his age. Yes I get it, he was able to nab any bread within your crossfire, but when someone waits for you for three days and then is taken away for family reasons, you do not call him a coward you prick!

Thank you for this moment of venting.

Ichigo from Bleach. He is stupid, whiny and pathetic. I also don't like the Dragonball approach in Bleach: "Powerful enemy-> protagonist trains and kicks powerful enemy's ass-> new even more powerful enemy-> protagonist trains, comes back shockingly more powerful and kicks powerful enemy's ass... First one to guess what happens next gets a pie.
That's actually pretty typical of shonen anime in general and not just Bleach. You might want to pick a new genre to watch.
I know, but in my opinion Bleach and Dragonball don't do that well. I like the way e.g. Naruto does it.

Makoto from School Days and the main character from Chaos Head are the most unlikeable. Chaos Head is the only anime I've stopped watching cause of the main character. It's like they took every single bad stereotype about nerds/otaku's, amplified it 10 times and made the character of it.

*PLOT SPOILER INCLUDED*
What didn't you like about L? I thought he was the best character in Death Note and as others have said I felt like the series should have ended after he died.

Shinji I dont want to pilot a giant mech boohoo seriously he needs a Bright slap now!
Oh yes that guy... I know what you mean. He was the reason I just couldn't finish Evangelion.
I disagree. He was human; that's what I like about him.
I disagree with that statement, by 14-15 he should have been able to be adjusted to his trauma and gotten over it at least to a point where he could function as a normal person.

I have never hated an anime character as much, it absolutely ruined NGE for me.

Nothing in anime comes close to the contempt I have for Denise Richards character in Starship Troopers.

Shinji bloody Ikari (End topic)

He is such a whiny little ***** and he gets on my nerve's so much. He alone is proberly the reason why neon genesis evangelion isn't my favourite anime. If the anime didn't have such a crappy excuse of a main character it would of been the god tier of anime's shame really.
Like I said earlier, I disagree. The great thing about Shinji is that he's human, and feels the way a real person would feel in his situation. Oh, and it's spelled "nerves", not "nerve's"
Actually, it's spelled Nerv.

(couldn't resist)

I'd have to go with the basic stereotype that's been used for every harem anime since Tenchi Universe (the OVA's Tenchi wasn't bad, but they flattened his character for the remake); you know, that whiny, helpless, selfish, pathetic loser that everyone falls in love with for no reason, especially the ones where the guy's main strong point is that he's a pervert. It really wrecks a show for me when I can't find something to like about the main character.

Oddly enough, the protagonist from A Certain Magical Index did not follow this stereotype and I loved the show all the more for it; he was a total selfless badass that could take everything in stride and not rely on anyone else.

Ulquiorra from Bleach

At first I thought "Wow, even though he's on the evil side, he's a pretty respectable badass." but after a while that thought changed to "Wow, what an evil asshole, someone stab him to death, NOW."
