Unusual and useful? Pete Wisdom's heat knife thingys or Pyro's ability to control fire. Working in kitchen would be so much more fun, I'd never need a lighter, (except in the pyro power case), self-defense would be a breeze, and camping, when you need a fire started, I'm your guy. Honestly? I'd be happy with "Prototype"-style superhuman parkour. Run forever at 100kph, make no differentiation between the floor and a perfectly vertical wall, be able to land on my feet to no ill effect after a drop from any height, and jump seventy feet in the air from standing. I could do without the air dash and gliding providing I had those and unlimited access to an urban environment.

It'd be hilarious to see at least one person actually do it. And as odd as it would probably feel, well... you'd be getting money!

Where the hell do you live?

Around Boston... most of the people I've heard it from are family, so it might be less of a regional thing than a family thing.

I'm also from Massachusetts and I know a lot of people who use that figure of speech, not just for money. When you ask someone if they have something that normal people wouldn't have with them you get that sarcastic response, "sure, let me just pull one out of my ass".
