Sorry, just had a quick question for those who know their way around a PC. I have a Gateway made mobo with AMD 780G chipset, and was looking at upgrading my processor. The one I want uses am2+ sockets, and I was wondering if the 780G chipset supports those. Thanks in advance.

I'm fairly certain that it is, one of their main advertisements for this chipset mentions that it is backwards compatible with older processors but can also use the new phenom processors.

Should be okay, I wouldn't take my word for it though, would google help here?
Yes, I second this man's notion. You'll have to check to make sure that your motherboard can support the processor that you want to get. You can probably find out pretty easily which one your PC has in it and from there you should be able to look up a list of supported processors.
