Motion Controls

Ok here's my question, if the ps3 and 360 had motion controllers akin to the Wii,
with the great graphics they have now, would you be interested in getting them?
Or do you prefer to keep to a controller?

I try keeping my physical movements while playing video games to a minimum. If I want to be a lazy bastard and play video games all day, I want to ensure I get the whole non-productive experience.

No, I will keep my controller thank you. Innovation for the sake of innovation is terrible and results to being a gimmick. Unless devs can treat the Wii with some respect and actually take full advantage of it, motion controls will always be a cringe worthy idea to me.

Besides, I got Keyboard and Mouse, I don't need any other control method....EVER. Ok well not until mind control comes along...

I agree, getting the damn thing to turn the way you want it to sometimes is worse than the sensors in the Wii-mote.

Some games it translates very well for motion controls, while others it seems forced and only put in for the sake of having motion control. Sometimes I just wish I didn't have to waggle my wrist instead of tapping a button, but alas, Nintendo REALLY likes the waggle technique on their console. I would say no to other consoles adopting a motion control basis, because so many times I like to be lazy.

If used well, like in Ratchet and Clank, but most devs don't use it to its potential and it comes off as clumsy... Well at least it aint gimmicky

No. Controllers are far more responsive than the Wiimote. And you can't do complex actions with it. I'd rather string a combo of button presses than wave my arms around.

Also, when you see someone playing a Wii they look like they have a mental condition, at least when someone haas a controller in their hands you know what's going on.

Careful, if you don't agree your a troll. But in all seriousness I do enjoy the PS3 motion controls, atleast in Kill Zone 2 where they play a part in aiming the sniper rifle. (A little to the left, and BOOM HEADSHOT)

Idk until games go true 3d i really don't see the need for motion controls. The ps3's siaxis is flawed and never seems perfectly calibrated for whateever game its using it for. (cept for rub a dub that game owns) And as gimmicky as the Wii's motion censor is I think overall thats the main reason thats holding the system back as a gaming platform. Yes i'm aware of its overall consumer domination. They're making games based around the controller instead of the system and what actual gamers want out of the machine.

The only games the Wii's motion controls worked for were Metroid Prime 3 and kinda Super Mario Galaxy. So no, I wouldn't. It has potential, but more as an add-on for an existing system with normal controllers, not the basis for an entire new system.

Okay... I HATE the Wii motion controls... That's it, that's my explanation.

Also, I like the Ps3 motion controls. They're used very good in Flower, Ratchet and Clank and Folklore.
