I was recently playing F zero gx, and I noticed that I got dizzy and a bit light headed. I thought I was just a bit under the weather. I then decided to end the night by playing some Mario Cart. same thing happened. Is it possible for motion sickness to carry over into the realm of gaming, because I'm not really sure. Has this happened to anyone else?

Doesn't happened to me unless it's something that really fucks with my head. You should probably avoid those games.

Yes, yes it does.

Vehicle sections are usually the worst for me. Mirror's Edge had some rough spots, and I couldn't play Half-Life 2 for more than ten minutes at a time before I realised I could change the FOV.

(Also, your username made me grin.)

I got motion sickness from Half Life 2.

I had to stop playing for about 3 hours because I was about to vomit

Does getting heart palpitations from playing Condemned 2 in a dark basement at midnight in a windstorm count?

The editor in Chief of PC Gamer US, gets motion sickness from Gaming. Theyve done tons of features of motion sickness remedies, and if you ever listen to the PC Gamer Podcast youll know how they talk about it quite a bit.

Chewing Ginger is the preferred method, I think...

Yes, it can carry over. I've gotten a bit motion sick while playing WoW a number of times. I got a raptor mount for my Tauren and for the first few days of using it it made me very dizzy. @_@ The reason being the raptors are very large and move in a very particular way and when sized up for a Tauren it leads to it being very exaggerated.

I get motion sickness playing First Person Shooters, So when I play (usually with friends), I make sure someone is able to take over at some point so I can rest my eyes.

Also, while not Motion Sickness, but I feel its the same in some case, I do suffer from Waterfall Effect when playing Guitar Hero. It sucks, but the first time I played GH and I took a break, the walls started moving. It was epic, like getting high without ingesting ANYTHING.

Yeah it exists.

I am afraid of heights and I've been getting pretty bad vertigo from heights in games all the way back to the first Tomb Raider and Dark Forces II. You can have all sorts of strange physiological effects from gaming if it's portrayed well enough.
