I've been interested in Motorstorm since the first game, but due to a lack of a PS3, I've had to appreciate them from a distance. Until now! I knew a new game was in the works when I bought my PS3 at Christmas, so I've held off buying any of the prequals until I could get my hands on a demo of Apocolypse, and I'm happy to say that I think it's awesome. I haven't had my racing itch scratched since Burnout 4 (yes, that long ago), I love over the top arcade racers so I'll most likely be picking this up.

Can any fans of the series tell me whether Apocolypse, from their first impressions, lives up to the franchise? Are you new to the series, what did you think of the demo? Will you buying it?

3,2,1 GO!

After playing the demo for a while, I think I definately prefer bikes over cars (they're the only vehicles in the demo).

I haven't played the Demo yet but I have been a big fan of that franchise. Pacific Rift was an great improvement over the origonal. Maps vehicles everything. I'll report back after a dive into the demo tonight.
This is really my only viable driving game at the moment, I can't stand simulations like Gran Turismo, I need chaos, explosions, BOOST!

Don't forget the crazy jumps and battling too !
Battling. As soon as I read that, I got a mental of image of Pokemon fights, while racing. I need to get someone to make that game now.

hot pursuit was pretty good for that. Although it really was a low grade burnout by any real criteria.
Indeed, I'm usually very skeptical about racing games. The newest Burnout game was too sandboxy for me, I want to be able to concentrate on the action, not the GPS system. I've been very interested in Motorstorm since the first game. This is the first time I've actually got to play one.

I know the open city thing was a real problem for some, and probably would have been for me too if the area had been any larger, but in my eyes the city was just the right size ( and SOOO BEAUTIFUL till it blew up my graphics card :/).

But i can understand disliking it. Wanting to jump into a race was a feeling i had leftover from playing Burnout 3, and can definitely see the merits of it, but overall it was a decent attempt at testing new territory.
Oh, yeah totally, the game looked brilliant. I can't really blame the devs for trying to shake things up a bit. I'll wait and see if the next Burnout game will be more to my taste, but until then, Motorstorm is my new favourite racing game.
