Hey guys, OP's mould-growing friend here. Thanks for the suggestions! I've started it out with a base of 'milk loaf' bread which is basically bread with more milk than usual, which I'm thinking will go mouldy more/faster. Also, for all the spelling Nazis, mould is how we spell it in UK.

I think vegetables of some kind would be a good choice, since those are the things that tend to develop mold.
