I had to meet a Holocaust survivor for a history project. I got to hear her story which involved family dying and her being gangraped at 12 by evil German sickos at the behest of a high ranked female German who wanted to watch.

you can see why the founding fathers of USA had a huge debate about how much of a voice to give the people vs the elite. Though I prefer democracy to elitism in principle( and hopefully in practice,) I do see why things like the electoral college can be a good thing when the will of the masses runs contrary to reason or self-preservation of the nation.

While this isn't political, but business-related, I understand the parallel and state that really this is not so much a matter of who has the power, but if someone at the top has the power of veto in the name of common sense after weighing in the votes. That particular point serves us well here.
