I'm not sure if this belongs in gaming or off topic as it involves both but I'm guessing it goes here. This sort of thread's probably come up before but I was wondering. Have you ever been watching a movie and thinking "They should make a game out of this"? I've had it happen myself a couple times, though I'm not looking for examples where they DID make games from them (So no spider man games).

I think the real problem with movie games is how short a time they spend in development; about a year & they have to come out around the same time as the movie. I say pick a good movie that already exists & spend 2 to 4 years developing it.

For some reason "Fight Club" was the first thing that popped into my head. For some weirder reason "The Bad Seed" was the second.

I don't watch movies often, so I'm going to answer it the other way around, Games that need to be movies:

Assassin's Creed would make a decent one, Ubisoft actually already has a mini-movie (30 minutes I believe)
There's part one, so I guess I have to come up with a different one, eh?

Code Geass needs a movie to end the series (Or it needs series/season 3)
and there have been Code Geass games... so Get on it, Sunrise.

They actually made a 2D fighter out of Fight Club. It holds a solid 36/100 at metacritic.

They should make a survival horror game out of John Carpenter's The Thing. What's that? They did? Well they should make another one! The first one showed promise.

I think something could be made out of an Inception-licensed game. Your missions start of as simple extraction and you work your way up to inception as per the movie.
