Could you fellow movie watchers out there recommend me some indie/low radar movies that you think are good? Because I hate when I don't get to see about good movies just because I didn't hear of them.

I'm looking for movies kind of like Liberal Arts, Cherry and Garden State, but hey, I won't say no to a movie recommendation of any kind.

Movies you should see: Brick, Daydream Nation, Leon (if you haven't seen Leon slap yourself right now, right in the face), The Fall, The Darjeeling ltd, Me and Orson Wells, The Life and Death of Charlie St Cloud.

I can't think of any more off of the top of my head.

I love Brick and yes I've seen Leon. I'll leave the slapping to the girls in my life. Thanks I'll check them out.

"In the Bedroom" (No, unfortunately it's not porn)--directed by Todd Field. Todd Wilkinson is amazing in this flick. Or "Yi Yi: A One and a Two" (If you want some Chinese in your life) By far one of the best (If not the best) movies of the 21st century.

Snow Angels, Rocket Science, Winter Passing, The Poker House, I Heart Huckabees, Pieces of April.

There are some. I dunno if they're really what you're looking for, but they're some that come to mind when you mention the films you mentioned in the opening post. So yay.

Would you like to know more?

One of the best science fiction movies out there. It is brimming with unsubtle satire and hilariously bad acting, yet it is one of the cleverest films out there, and the more you think about it, the more you can appreciate it.

It also works great as an action film. But if you get the second message hidden under its veneer, you won't find better. Paul Verhoeven's best film, followed by his equally good Robocop.

If you haven't seen it, just watched it again actually, Pulp Fiction.

If you have seen it, then All Star Superman. If you have ever wondered someone likes Superman, this movie does a pretty good job at representing the comic series of the same name.

Seconded. People give Ed and Paul way less credit than they deserve for this film. It's so brilliant because you can take it as seriously as you want, and it still works. I used to see it as a dumb action movie and enjoyed it as such. I now see it as a clever satire and enjoy it even more.

Even posted it on the Escapist. Yup, and it really blew my mind. Seconds in, I see an authoritarian face in 'contrast' to the bug-like symbol of the federation I never would have noticed otherwise.

Also, not sure how much you're familiar with/open to Asian movies you are, but if you're interested, here are a bunch of great ones start you off:
A Bittersweet Life, A Tale of Two Sisters, Crying Fist, I Saw the Devil, Oldboy(the movie that got me into Asian cinema), Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, The Man from Nowhere.

i'd recommend Moon, a sci fi movies about Sam Rockwell as a man assigned to maintain the mining station on the far side of the moon...alone, beyond that however, I can't spoil

also if you're gonna watch it, don't watch the trailer, there's a twist that happens about a half hour in that the trailer totally spoils

to me it's most remarkable for how it shows that, for all his comedic roles, Sam Rockwell is still an incredible actor

Sam Rockwell could be my favourite actor so I'm right there with you, I fucking love Moon. I watched conviction purely for a little Sam Rockwell time.
