Yes, it's that John McCain. He used to equate MMA to "Human Cockfighting" and wanted it banned in the U.S. Another reason why I'm an Obama man.Jamash post=18.70654.701173 said:RE: Branko Cikatic v Ralph White - I just love how Bas & Stephen are joking around after it happened, even though it looks pretty serious. Stephen's Burgess Meridith impression is classic. "Cut it Rocky, cut it!"
When Stephen said "It's good thing John McCain didn't see this fight". Was he referring to the same John McCain who is running for president? Was he the Jack Thompson of MMA?
Shit man, that woman's injury seemed bad, even worse because of how much she was screaming (understandable). The commentary said it was dislocated, which isn't as bad if it had snapped, but still, ouch.
It reminds me of how I dislocated me knee, picking someone up & in a fireman's carry & due to an unlucky freak positioning of angles, all our bodyweight caused my kneecap to pop out completely to one side & my femur smashed into my tibia, shattering both bones. Talk about snap, crackle & POP!
And yeah, when I saw that fight I was freaking the fuck out because I'd never seen anything like that up 'til that point. So, yeah, after seeing worse things like the broken shins, I've been rendered a numb individual on the inside.
And all I have to say about that last statement is "Fuuuuuuuck...". That shit must have hurt, dude, I can't imagine. The worst martial arts related injury I have is a sprained/torn ligament in my ankle from falling on it after delivering a drop kick on a wavemaster bag (see: being a dumbass). Apart from that I've been pretty lucky. I did dislocate my friend's elbow one time with an armbar once though. Which the tough bastard promptly snapped back into place and continued with the class. Good times. But you got us both beat.
