I actually prefer Season 2 of Panty and Stocking over Season 1, but people should watch the first season to get a feel for the characters. Which makes their subtle character development hit much harder.

I will take Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation any day over Genisys and Dark Fates.

Yeah, all four aren't that good compared to the first two movies, but with T3 and Salvation, it was at least within the continuity that was established from the first two movies.

T3 had some weird quirky moments (T-X adjusting the breast size, or T-800 saying "talk to the hand"), but I loved the ending where we learn that the judgement day is inevitable, and John Connor is destined to become the leader of the human resistance.

Salvation may sucked and the focus on Marcus was questionable, but I always wanted to see more of the future warfare, and it delivered.

Genisys and Dark Fates though? For the sake of "reboot", they fucked up the already convoluted timeline even more. The CGI effects really sucked in both movies, and the main characters just felt...flat

I have no hope for the future of this franchise. Damn shame, too.

Salvation I never found bad. Flawed, but I actually ended up enjoying it more than 3 mostly. Genesys I saw with my family, and for some reason they liked it, but they more than likely forgot it even exists at this point. None of us saw Dark Fate. Neither film exists for me. The kindest thing I can say about DF is that I like this one fan artist that did artwork of the two lead characters, and that's it.

The only problems with Salvation were the utter lack of the future war weapons and them wussing out on the originally planned ending. Otherwise its a perfectly good movie.

Honestly, the lack of the plasma weapons didn't bother me much, and original ending I never cared about. It would have been something different, but it was not worth bitching about, even back then. Glad I never did.

Out of interest, did you see The Sarah Connor Chronicles? Only saw the first couple of eps of that.

I did. For some reason, I was compelled to see every episode.

My god, it was such a strange experience. I think it was supposed to be a fill-in between T2 and T3, but I distinctly remember the last season ending with John somehow ending up in the future, and meeting his dad, Kyle Reese.

I think one thing that I liked about the show was there was a whole arc about a T-unit that was hunting John got destroyed at one point, but somehow managed to re-build himself (something about using the future skynet technology to hack multiple computers?), and even getting the human flesh disguise again. Stupid logic, but I liked it enough.

I remember that show got fucking weird because it was super in love with having Summer Glau as the 'good' Terminator - herself riding high on Firefly nerd cred - and doing all manner of relationship teasing between Cameron and John. And then of course after a while it wasn't about Sarah. Which is a pity because I liked Lena Headey as the character.

In fact, the show should have been all the time between T1 and T2.

Sarah Connor Chronicles is just bad fan fiction to me. I saw a few episodes of it back when I was in high school, and I dropped it.

Oh yeah, I vaguely remember that as well, wasn't that mainly a singular episode that jumps around in time like over decades or something?

I recall the show being very up and down to where there was really great episodes and then really subpar episodes.

I enjoy both New Cutie Honey and RE: Cutie Honey about the same. RE has slight edge, as there is an actual ending with it being a 3 episode OVA.

Ok, so The Muppet Christmas Carol is the best Christmas Carol adaptation, and few people argue about that, but I don't think there's a consensus about which song from that film is the best. I'm going to say the Marley and Marley song:

I've never understood why Farquaad isn't a king in Shrek. If he has lands, an army, and isn't bound to another liege lord then he's a king. Marrying a princess wouldn't make him a king anyway, it'd make him a prince.

Well, perhaps, but then is there any reason that a variety of spirits/ghosts need to hassle rich old guys on Christmas, and not some other day? A Christmas Carol doesn't have to be set at Christmas for the fundamental story to work, and yet surely you'd say it's a Christmas story?
Perhaps it could have been set at another holiday, but there isn't another where the themes of love, generosity, and good will to all men are quite so prevalent. Maybe Scrooge could have run around handing out Easter presents, but I don't think it would have landed so well. Ghost stories are also a tradition of Christmas, though it's pretty much fallen off in modern times.

My Hero Academia has one of the better/best endings in shounen. This isn't a hot take, if you're from Japan or have a reasonable/sensible brain, but the anime fans and "fans" on the Western front really need to fuck off and get over themselves. Izuku got he wanted, became top hero (not #1, but is #3 and still higher than Bakugo, so that's a big win to me), is at high paying teaching job at UA, and inspired everyone and the hero world around him. So cut this whole "working 9 to 5 at McDonalds" bullshit 'meme'. You didn't get your "harem nor sigma male ending". Get the fuck over yourselves and grow the fuck up. If that what you were expecting from MHA, then you've not only missed the point, but are pathetic perverts with nothing better to do than project your own desires on fictional characters.

The earliest movies that I tend to rewatch are from the 1930s, the Frankenstein film of 1931 (which was followed by 7 more Frankenstein films which came out as a DVD set some years later so I have them all), various other horror films of the period, and some low budget US spy/police stuff. In 1939 the first Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes film was released.

The earliest TV show I rewatch is the US 1954 Sherlock Holmes series (filmed in France), which later got remade in the 70s, filmed in Poland.

Which seem to be rather impressively old for things that still hold up enough to be watched nowdays.
