Movies That Actually Make You Cry, As Opposed To Movies That Just Carry Emotional Weight Possibly

"Movies that carry emotional weight possibly"... doesn't that description include basically every movie ever made? Even the shittiest amateur productions can "possibly" carry emotional weight.

I see you've picked up on my shot at that ridiculous "Movies that make guys cry" premise. I'm usually of the "It's not doing me any harm so live and let live" school of thinking but for some reason that premise and the articles themselves irritate me. I find it idiotic and presumptuous.

Honerable mentions go to several scenes in Les Mis. I don't usually like melodramatic movies, but it's just so raw and honest. I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, and the ending had me fighting back tears the whole time. I was almost bawling like an infant.

Also Asukas mind rape scene from Neon Genesis. Jesus, it's hard to watch, and her mental state afterwards is painful to watch.

Other than that, outside of Up, the only thing that connects these movies for me, it terms of the particular crying moment in each of them, is that nostalgia played a major part in it in some way, shape, or form...
