"Before you die, you will see The Ring."

Paranormal Activity is good for those who never want to sleep again until they die.

As opposed to after you die, you mean? Well, all of them I guess. In Heaven there's no movie theater, and in Hell they just show Uwe Boll movies.

Transformers 2

All Ingmar Bergman movies, they're all amazing. Tarkovsky's and Angelopoulo's movies too

EDIT: Also Aguire the Wrath of God and Metropolis -ninja'd-
Ed Wood's movies have a unique feel, I would recommend them too

the only Star Wars movies you should watch is the original trilogy. That being said, most movies people say you should watch before you die are obvious ones IE Shawshank Redemption, Casablanca, etc. However, to name a few genres you should watch, John Carpenter's The Thing, a movie crafted so well that the tension and suspicion of all characters keeps you guessing until the end (plus lots of great Kurt Russell moments in there). True Grit, you get to see John Wayne at the top of his game, (yes I know the tom boy girl in it is annoying as hell but The Duke is awesome so watch it), and finally Enter the Dragon special edition (Don't watch it on TV rent it at your local video store, see Bruce Lee in one of his finest produced films and you guessed it since it was made in America and Lee could speak English pretty well it's not dubbed so enjoy this piece of cinema and watch Bruce kick the shit out of pretty much everybody...)

The Godfather, just because it's awesome, but, if anyone has a passing interest in science fiction, I, like people above me, would recommend Moon; truely one of the hidden gems of the last decade!

Donnie Darko. Classic.
Toy Story One.
Green Mile. Cause I just liked it.
Monty Python flicks for giggles and shits.
And lastly it's gotta be.....Is it Seven? The one with Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey?

Adaptation.

Simply magnificent.

How anyone can not worship Nicholas Cage and his talent is beyond me.

And a lot of others, but they've been said. American Beauty in particular.
