I have had a few that I have mentally blocked but the latest one is "watchmen", I heard this site go on and on about it so while in need of a film to watch I picked it up at the shop, popped it into my PS3 and was bored out of my frigging mind.

The ink blot guy's mask was pretty cool and the big blue fella was pretty awesome and the bit where he explodes the guy was nice but other than that it was awful.

What the hell was with the batman rip off guy by the way?
Nearly all the characters were rip-offs. Alan Moore wasn't allowed to use the real characters. Also, you should read the book.
After enduring the movie, I think I will pass on the book. I know people always say about every film adaptation of a book "that the book is better" but I still think I will pass.

Never did like reading books anyway, same problem with playing hand helds, always get a kink in my neck from looking down.

Twilight & Borat.

Twilight, self explanatory.

Borat, I got up to the point where he was wrestling naked with his obese, equally naked friend, and I called it quits. I don't know, it just wasn't working for me.
The family and I called it quits around the time the giant Jew mascots were roaming through the Romanian countryside.

I take the OP to mean movies that made me squirm, not just bad movies.
I've seen a lot of depressing movies, some of which were just pointless and depressing, but many that really touched me.
Any gore porn or torture porn I won't watch.
So I haven't bothered watching Hostel or Saw or that one about american tourists having their organs stolen. Not interested.
Anything with shaving makes me squirm. I just know they're going to cut themselves. I have to cover my eyes.

Specific mentions got to:
- Apocalypse Now, for when the water buffalo get sacrificed.
- Saving Private Ryan, despite a great start the end sort of looked like they wanted to show how many different ways they could show someone getting blown up/decapitated/etc.
- Holy Mountain, it's not art showing people taking a dump and then showing it on camera. It's just a more unhygienic form of pretentiousness.
- Audition, torture and mutilation when I wasn't expecting it.
- Spoorloos (The Vanishing), a mystery movie whose twist in the last minute made me feel so ill I wanted to throw up.

As for Borat, I find it quite racist to take the piss out of someone because they are American and don't know your schtick or to try and say eastern Europeans are all backward inbreds. It's really all Sacha Cohen has. Has he ever done an piss-take impression of a Jewish character?

It's been mentioned a couple times but Requiem for a Dream (damned ninjas!). Talk about a movie that makes you want to shoot yourself. The ending was particularly bad. "Ass to ass!" That was like a scene cut out of the worst porno ever. If you're going to make a "don't do drugs, kids!" movie, isn't it better to present a realistic portrayal of what can go wrong? "Don't do smack, or you'll end up doing the booty dance with some other flake using a 2-way dildo." Of course.

Can't believe I forgot Funny Games. Narcissistic director remade his own film after less than a decade. Sociopathic teens invade homes, fuck with families, torture them, then kill them all. The end. The bad guys aren't likable even in an ironic sort of way - more like an 80's high school villain, the sort you want to punch in the face the whole movie. It also has quite possibly the worst fourth wall breaking ever. I was so disgusted after I sat through that piece of celluloid shit that I looked it up to see if there was something I was missing. There wasn't. Apparently, the point of the film was to get the audience to get up and walk out of the theater.
to be fair though I dont think Requiem was ever intended to be an anti-drug PSA

it was just a movie about addiction..and all that (some of the scenes with Sarah in her house kinda hit home for me)

as far as "dont do drugs" goes....I think this one works anyhow
Darren Aronovsky came to speak at my university. When asked what the point of Requiem was, he said, "Don't do drugs."

I wouldn't say it "works anyhow." Lying about why someone shouldn't do something doesn't really work.
well...it did show how awsome drugs can be as well

but yeah, still better than "hey kids! you wanna be cool? dont do drugs!"

Grave of the Fireflies has already been mentioned a few times, and for obvious reasons. It's a film that easy to watch once, but the thought of watching it again is unbearable. The film is too good, too powerful for anyone to think of watching it ever again. Quite frankly, you don't have to either; there's one line which is forever burned into your mind after watching it:

"She never woke up."

I tend to avoid emotional films (and war films) as well, mostly because I prefer to not watch sad things in general. The reputation of Grave of the Fireflies makes it practically schmuck bait for many (myself included, it's clearly not something I would normally want to watch), but it certainly has earned its status as one of the more heart-wrenching films ever made. I'm actually glad I watched it... but never again, never again.

That aside, I can't think of any films which have been just plain bad and to the extent that their almost unbearable to watch for that reason. I don't find that they're worth remembering, and that I usually make a point of avoiding such obviously bad films (along with never forcing myself to finish them for any reason).

City Of Life And Death was a bit rapey seeing as it was about Japanese war crimes in WW2 China.
But it was interesting to see if a film could soberly, maturely deal with a touchy subject when the two countries are now trade equals. It did.

Diary of the Dead.

I thought it was just terrible. The only thing I liked about it was the badass deaf Amish farmer.

"The Human Centipede"....enough said, that film is.....is.....I don't even want to know what the writer was thinking,
Too bad, I'm going to tell you anyways!

I saw the extra features on the DVD, and the idea originated in a talk between the director and one of his friends. They were talking about pedophilia, and the director says to his friend:

Paraphrase:

"Child molesters are disgusting and evil. They should have their mouths stapled to the ass of a big, sweaty trucker."

And that is how babies-- I mean the Human Centipede, was born.

Battle: L.A. - It was terrible. My friend wanted to see it for his birthday, so he invited me and several others. For about 3 quarters of the movie, me and another were just ripping on it quietly. I swear, the last battle scene is a near copy of Saving Private Ryan's climax battle scene.

Grown-Ups - Another one that comes off the top of my head. I think Adam Sandler has uses some of the same jokes throughout the movie. His humor should've stayed in the 90's, where it was somewhat fresh and entertaining.

Camelot - Not a movie, but that TV show on Starz. It sucks. That's all I'm going to say. It's just plain bad. Especially bad when you try to watch Camelot after an episode of A Game of Thrones.

Death Proof is the first that comes to mind for fucking boring. yeah, the car chase was cool, but not worth sitting through the terrible characters and dialogue who die and are then replaced with worse characters and worse dialogue.

For fucking stupid: Battle: Los Angeles. Don't get me fucking started on this piece of shite

As of legitimately hard to watch, can't think of any entire movies but I can think of a couple of scenes.

from a piece of shit called The Ruins (not worth checking out) this guy gets poisoned or something I don't remember but they have to cut off his legs with a sharp rock. The screaming, the foley, all that just makes me cringe away so much.

Also from Saw III when the doctor is cutting into jigsaw's skull. JESUS, the sound is so fucking intense, I could literally barely sit through that scene. Call me a pussy, or weak or whatever, but that sound was really hard for me to sit through. Far harder to sit through than any of the actual traps in the film

Also just throwing it out there, but I really loved Watchmen. I have never read the comics, still haven't, but I still really like that movie. I wasn't bored at all throughout and I have never really followed most of the criticisms of it.

The Day After. Most draining and devastating film I've ever seen, political aspects aside, it was one that I haven't watched since I saw it the first time.

I have watched a lot of bad movies just to see Amanda Seyfried. Because unfortunately the movies she is staring next to Liam Neeson and Julian Moore are scarce. She beautiful but don't overlook the fact she is actually talented, she brings total committed sincerity to her rolls in so many crapy movies. Shes the flower in a pot of dirt. Just to name a few Dear Jon, Letters to Juliet, the Jennifer's Body and Mama-Mia. Pleas make the next movie a good one.

So yes, name some movies you found hard to watch for some reason or another, either particular scenes or the entire movie.
Two movies. These movies were a joy to watch for both great story and AMAZING visuals. The actual first time to watch them is a wonderful thing until the last act. In both movies I was left with a totally soul crushing realization of the reality of the story I was being presented. I love them both but I will be hard pressed to every fully watch them again.
