Ok, now this is a rather Intresting question, as im looking for less a direct answer but more a helping Mindset.

I've been working as a QA Tester for serveral months now, and as its coming up to the end of the project ive been given a choice(abeit from alot of bugging others) to Either stick with Post work or attempt for a Junior Designer Pos. Ofc I've had formal training and education in Game Design so i jumped at the chance, but i have to go though a day of testing.

I havn't sat or done any sort of tests for yonks, and I've started questioning my own skills meaning my confidence is slightly knocked down. It doesnt help matters im in another land than my own, and my German is to say 'Quite' Rough, making me worry about my future a little.

So im asking have any of you done something similar, going though a interal canidate test, either in the Games industry or otherwise? And how did you get yourself ready?

I've done programming tests in interviews before - am a programmer by trade. Usually they'll ask you pretty straightforward stuff, just to make sure you have the basic skillset. If it's an entry-level job, they'll be testing if you have the capabilities to be trained more so than skill level. If it's at the same company you've been working at, and someone suggested it, then you've already got some advantage.
For me, it's a matter of not overthinking it, going and doing my best. I think to myself, whatever happens will happen, and I can't change that... makes me worry less.

If it helps you, look over some previous stuff, to help you "revise" for it. Some people, practising makes them more confident about things.
