The big wigs of the Entertainment industry may have the money to support the politicians' campaigns, but the general public are the ones who decide whether or not the politician(s) in general will be elected. It's amazing how childish and absurd people with a lot of money can get. I guess it's true what they say, money truly is the root of all evil.

I just love how more and more overt that organizations like the MPAA are getting lately. It's so scummy and arrogant it doesn't even make me mad, just rolling my eyes.

Nice of the MPAA to come out and let everyone know they don't give a damn about anybody but themselves.
This, pretty much.
Occupy was a significant pressure release, but many people are still mad as hell. I think you guys south of 49 are going to hit a tipping point pretty soon, and the results won't be pretty.

This is the reason why corporate funding is illegal over here. This kind of behavior sickens me.

Well, now that they've out and out -said- it, how about we do what we do best on the internet, and get this to go viral? The more attention that this shameless case of threats and implied vote purchases gets, the better; the irony of so many movies actively featuring corrupt corporations and governments as the bad guys makes it very easy for most individuals with any exposure to entertainment media in the past two decades to pick the villain in this situation.

I've said it elsewhere, but government should never bend over for injections of private sector policies.

Na, I don't think it's corruption. It's just crass PR and bad timing. I'm admittedly stumped as to why MPAA wants to make it public.

Of course, in the end, he only has one vote.

And a lot of money that can be used in a re election campaign. That's where the heart of this lays. That money can be used to re elect the politician or even convince the party to keep that person in their current position. That is where the threat is. He can now pay for someone else in that party to take away someones else position or even fund the other party. I know in here in Canada a few years back there was talk of limiting organizations from giving more than 1000 per campaign. I forget if that passed or not and is still in effect(and one of the reasons for the bill was to cripple the opposition.)

I'd like to say a headshot would be better, but the poor schlub doesn't have anything vital up there.

I've never been impressed with the MPAA, largly because they never have a set standard for what gors into a G, Pg, PG-13, or NY-17 (hence we have all seen an PG film with R rated content and a PG-13).

This garbage just takes the cake.
