I'm gonna keep this one simple.
I've just gotten my laptop back from the repair...people. I had an issue making the internet work again, but now I've done that everything seems to be fine, EXCEPT Windows Live Messenger, which refuses to sign in.
I look at Microsoft's troubleshooting help guide, and it essentially told me to make sure the program isn't blocked by a firewall, that my internet is connected, and that my date and time settings are correct.
Well my Firewall is set to allow the program to connect to my internet. My internet connection is working (hence how I was able to check the help site. well done Microsoft) and my date and time settings are correct.
So...I now have no idea what else to try to get this stupid thing to connect!
