I don't know how many others are out there, but I really love the series Mystery Science theater 3000 and really wish it was still around. Feel free to list some of your favorite movies from the satellite of love or your favorite riffs from Joel/Mike and the bots! Or tell us your favorite bot (mine is Crow T of course).

I accidentally started a similar thread in gaming discussion on accident. So ignore that one....I'll try to get rid of it. Have fun!!

I used to watch MST3k all the time, hilarious show. I used to have MST3k: The Movie on tape too. Great stuff. Do they still show reruns at all?

I REALLY hope this isn't violating a rule or something to post this, but if you haven't checked out rifftrax.com you should. Mike Nelson & the guys are still at it.

I think my faves are MST3K the Movie (This Island Earth), and Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders. It's just SOOOOOOO bad.

Unfortunately Ben, they stopped showing reruns a while ago, at least I'm pretty sure on that one. It's mostly all on dvd or the internet now. (in fact Mike is part of an internet group called Rifftrax which do voice-overs to play in synch with movies). MST3k is truly awesome stuff and I wish I had some on tape.

I really wish that show was back on. I can't see why they would cancel it, it was hilarious.

i enjoy my nice mst3k 20th anniversary tin box with crow toy in it

it's a great show and has had a great legacy. the first MiB movie has an easter egg known as the mst3k egg, it's a silhouette, ala mst3k, of Tommy Lee Jones and Barry Sonnenfeld talking about the movie, it fits in with their commentary track

Big McLargehuge is probably the greatest thing to ever grace my ears in my life. Space Mutiny was easily one of my favorites.

Other classics include:

Manos: The Hands of Fate
Werewolf
Laserblast
Withdrawn at Memory Bank (those poor aardvarks)
Merlins Shop of Wonders
Jack Frost
Hercules and the Moon Men (I think that's the name)
Santa Claus
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

Those are my favorites.

I can't remember most of the episodes, but I can still quote the movie because I watched it so many times. Like most guys, I prefered Joel to Mike, but the show was still awesome either way.

My introduction to MST3K came from mst3k.wad. A bunch of MST3K quotes, taken out of context, replacing the sounds from the game, creating a surreal and entertaining experience for all.

This lead me to find the episodes and laugh myself stupid.

Gamera is really neat... Gamera is full of meat... we all love you, Gamera!

I was introduced to MST3K when someone compared Unskippable to it and I've watched a few episodes and totally enjoy that style of humor.

If you go to see Fran Miller's 'The Spirit', be sure to take 2 friends who are good at such cynical humor and quick thinking, the entire movie was crying out for MST3K commentary XD
