Mugger Gets Shot In Face!

On the news a few weeks back, a mugger tryed to rob a person in america and he got more than he wanted. The man who was going to be mugged actually was in a gang and when the mugger armed with a knife tryed to take the guys money he just shot him in the face(abit overkill dont you think)! The gang member was sentenced for life in jail.

Eh...if it was a clear case of self-defense, I doubt the guy being mugged would have been sent to jail. Seeing as you mentioned he was in some sort of gang, I'm guessing that he was brought up on other charges, or that there's more to the mugging story than your post may or may not imply.

debatable, i'll be completly honest but it sounds like your trying to show off about knowing Krav Maga. Personally I'd rather the harsh beating, you can defend yourself, a bullet in the brain, bit harder to dodge.

debatable, i'll be completly honest but it sounds like your trying to show off about knowing Krav Maga. Personally I'd rather the harsh beating, you can defend yourself, a bullet in the brain, bit harder to dodge.

Well I think a quick death would be better than being beaten, doesn't have to be Krav Maga, any form martial art will put you in serious pain and if they are trained well you aren't going to get a chance to defend yourself because you'll be sideways thinking where it went wrong for you.

No its more elaborate than that, while the knife would help in jail in not getting bummed I think "handing out leaflets and winning the hearts and minds of the old age populace" would be more fitting to beat gun. The gunner would flee upon seeing old age people coming round the corner shouting at them about how much of a "nice young man" you are.

now if you go to jail as the gunner, then you can trade bullets for crack, the knife is good for contract beatings in the jail since you'll be the *****, and the leaflets will make the wardens treat you better since they'll think of their own sweet grandmother.

I'm no expert, and this is entirely speculation, but I've heard that bullets do have this habit of blowing brains out the back of your skull. Again, I don't know much about Israeli martial-arts, but I'd rather have my legs broken by that just plain painful of self-defences any amount of times than have an extra hole added to my face.

In other news, that's not that unusual. If someone came at you with a knife and you had a gun, you'd panic and fire. The fact that it hit him in the face is gruesome, but pretty much karma in that given situation.

Well if you are able to defend yourself then the fists are a better option but if you were able to defend yourself chances are you have some common sense and wouldn't be mugging someone let alone a gang member.

Uhh, guys, he's in a gang. He killed one guy in self defence (KILLED! Only in America and third world countries is that considered "reasonable force"...), but he's probably got a list of crimes he's at least suspected of that "self defence" can't quite cover, and the police just took the opportunity to bang him up.

Probablt shoulda just beaten the shit out of the guy and left him to struggle off home...

I don't think self defense works that way. I'm pretty sure you could be sent to jail for unnecessary use of lethal force. If someone attacks you, and you get them in a position where they don't pose a threat to you, you don't have the right to kill them.

Entirely wrong. If a martial art is going to kill you, it will likely be after you have been beaten unconscious and can't feel it anyways. And I don't know if you have ever BEEN in a fight, but it doesn't hurt that much. Adrenaline > Pain. Martial art's also don't frequently kill people, because anyone trained in them knows it is better to avoid conflict. Sure, they'd beat you bloody, but then they'd leave it at that.

A bullet in your face? You are DEAD. End of story.
