I am considering setting up a multiplay minecraft server, and I am wanting to know what they are like before I hand over some money.

So could you tell me about your experiences with them, if they're not so good suggest another one. Is there a minimum contract?

I basically want to know what you think of it, your experiences with it etc.

i dont think you have to pay money for a minecraft multiplayer server.
i usually play multiplayer in creative mode which is pretty fun. but i really miss a public beta server. i was just able to set one up for local-ish play.

I've heard good things about minecraft-servers.net, try them out?
It's $11.34 a month for a 6 slot server, plus an extra $1.89 for each additional slot.

(That's 7.10 Pounds a month, and an extra 1.18 pounds for each additional slot for those of you in England )

Other than that I don't know much about setting up minecraft servers, but everything they have is GUI-based so it's somewhat easy to use.

I think he's talking about Multiplay [http://www.multiplay.co.uk/], as in the game servers host. Not muliplayer specifically.

I personally haven't used them, but I've heard that their TF2 support is pretty good. They work out cheaper than minecraft-servers.net too (£1 per slot per month, minimum 8 slots).
