I was wondering if anyone could give me a name of a good Multi-region DVD/Blu-ray player. I'm looking for one capable of playing both DVDs and Blu-rays from all regions. Help is much appreciated.

If you're in the US, this Sony model [http://www.220-electronics.com/sony-bdp-s1100-region-free-blu-ray-dvd-player.html] is sold region free.
In the UK, this company [http://www.mrmdvd.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=159] lists a few models as region free.
In Australia, all models sold have to be region free by law, if not must have an option to make it region free.

That's interesting. Do you know more on how to deactivate the region locking on blu-ray players?KingsGambit said:
The issue you'll find is that (outside of Aus/NZ) not all models will support it. Many models do. On those that do, there's usually a "hidden menu", reached by entering the player's settings menu and pressing a particular button combination (but this will vary between manufacturer and model). If you go into a store, the sales assistant should be able to advise if they have a model that supports it, if not one that's region-free out of the box.Random Encounter said:
Having said the above, my earlier links show that it is quite possible to buy a player that's multi-region out of the box and it's probably a wise choice since you can buy a reputable brand (like Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, etc) and be assured it'll play your entire collection. Also FYI, the overwhelming majority of Blu-Ray discs are actually region free themselves; comparatively few are region locked and it's often easy to find them as such.
