Apparently, Capcom has recently confirmed that Resident Evil 5 will have multiplayer. This isn't just talking about the co-op multiplayer that we all knew about either, Resident Evil 5 will have two multiplayer modes called Slayer's Rule and Survivor's Rule. Slayer's Rule is point based and players must kill enemies to get more points than the other three players. Survivor's Rule is a standard versus mode that pits players against eachother, that should work out well with Resident Evil 5 controls... Another problem with this multiplayer mode is that it won't even be coming with the damn game, you'll have to pay 400 Microsoft Points just to play an unnecessary versus mode. DLC like this is becoming the norm now, but this DLC will be available just weeks after the release of Resident Evil 5. What are your opinions on this? Is there anybody who will actually be buying this? http://kotaku.com/5168756/capcom-confirms-prices-versus-mode-for-resident-evil-5?skyline=true&s=i

RE5 wasn't a game I bought to play multiplayer. Maybe if it shipped with multiplayer I might have tried it otherwise, but there is no way your going to get me to buy multiplayer for a game that wasn't meant to be played multiplayer.

Resident Evil is traditionally a solo experience (the exception being Outbreak which was actually pretty good) so I'm already somewhat pissed about them making it a co-op shooter.

However...some people will buy anything if it has their favorite series/developer/celebrity slapped on the front of it.

Yeah, I think that's the only reason they even called the game Resident Evil at all. It's basically just an action game with clunky controls and Wesker thrown in for awesomeness.
