Music altering persona

I listen to anything and everything, love the Beatles and have a huge appreciation for metal, most genres, and pretty much everything else I've listened to and one or two artists at least I have enjoyed. However I recently started listening to more Eminem after the release of Relapse, being one of the rappers I enjoy. After a couple of weeks listening to alot of his music especially from Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show, I have become excessively agressive. I'm getting angry at every little thing, and I use abrasive language alot more freqently. While I wouldn't have classed myself as jolly or loving to begin with, theres been a definate change. Metal used to have the effect of making me sullen and bitter, but overtime I think thats just what I became. While I'm not saying, rap is going to make me kill half my college, use, and abuse women, it has definatly brought about a more openly hostile me, albeit still me.

Has anyone experiance some measure of personality altering through listening to a genre of music you listen to infrequently?

I can't really say I have. I mean, it's never altered my personality, but it's done wonders for my mood at times.

When I listen to some songs it makes me happier, I don't know if that really counts though.

My persona? Can't say I have. That takes something more substantial than most music (it takes a game, typically).

I do become more thrill-seeking, uplifted, or melancholic with certain songs, but nothing drastic.

I don't think it does, that's just music doing what it's supposed to do, make you feel.

...That came out more hippie-esque than I thought it would.

Yeah, those kids at Columbine.
I think they may have listened to the same genre frequently. Also been seriously in need of psychological aid. Music can't load a gun for you.
And a gun can't tell you to shoot up a bunch of kids.

But a bike can tell you to kill your fictional characters...

It probably does alter my persona but not enough for me not to realize it.
It does to my friend as well. He listens to Linkin Park and he's become a bit more depressed. Thankfully, a good laugh makes him feel better.

lol not true, my gun speaks whenever I hold her. Would you like to come listen, she can be quite charming.

OT: no, OP I'm a little worried about you; you're personality should be more stable than to be noticeably changed by a short period listening to a different type of music. I'm sure you'll be fine, just always, always remember to question the driving force behind everything you do for the rest of your life lest something hijack your personality, steal your brain, and take your body on a rampage through anyone near to you.
