While I was waiting for WoW to finish it's Wednesday Fix, I decided to hit Kongregate and play the first game that catches my eye. That game was Music Catch 2.

I played Music Catch 1 when it came out on Kongregate, and I loved it, but I wanted a bit more variety inside it. It was great, and the formula was a solid gold, but needed something more. Music Catch 2 introduces alot more variety from the last game. New shapes to catch, new patterns, new shape movement scheme, and new songs!

The basic principle of the game is still the same. Catch the greeny-blue shapes, catch the yellow ones to power up, avoid red ones, and pick up the really colorful ones to activate the power up. While this may sound like a standard catch game, this game mixes it up a bit by adding music to the equation.

The piano will play heart-warming classical music, the kind that relaxes you and is perfect for stress relief. The shapes will appear in sync with the music, and yellow and red shapes appear when it livens up. This is a very nice touch, and makes the game much more enjoyable.

However, there is still a bad points to this game, but not enough to make me stop loving it. There aren't enough songs for one. There are only a few, but the game compensates for that with an option to add a song on there yourself using an MP3 URL. I had no idea how to work this, so instead I just used the songs they provided. That is the only bit of criticism I can, and will come up with.

I'm actually a little miffed this isn't the best game on Kongregate, It's number 4 of the highest rated games, behind Sonny, Gemcraft and Sonny 2. Music Catch 2 is definitely better than them. I never liked The Sonny series too much anyway, but I guess it's for some people only, while others won't like it. As for Gemcraft, I thought it was tedious and boring, so why does Kongregate Under-appreciate this Magnificent game? It must have been infected by people with no taste whilst I was asleep. Who knows?

The game is fabulous, just missing out on Perfection by a hair. This just makes me want Music Catch 3 now, with new songs, and much more. Please

Bottom Line: This game reeks brilliance and peace and enjoyment come out whenever it is played.

Recommendation: Play it. It's brilliant and everyone should share in it's brilliance. You don't have to pay for it to play it, but even if you did have to, you should anyway. It's that good.

Yeah, It's good and I liked the game. It has really nice music and is strangely addictive.

It's a flash game. That explains the lack of attention to the review.

However, it is awesome. If you wanted to review a flash game though, I think that you should do a compilation. I might get into doing compilations of flash games as well. However, with the already massive amount of reviews I have planned, and the Manga Mashups I want to do every so often, I won't be able to do the flash games for a while :D

Also, I should have added that sometimes reviews will recieve hardly any comments at all. It happens, try not to get too flustered over it. In fact, I think that my most recent review was the first one to actually recieve a load of feedback :D

Do something to help change this trend, and comment on reviews when they pop up. Even just a simple "Nice review, well written" shows that you actually had interest in the review, and encourages the writer to write more.

That was cause it was Max Payne and you trashed the game.(In a sort of way.) :p So people were compelled to trash the game.

I suppose that it's true that a good portion of the comments were running Payne into the ground. I also lotsa flak for being negative about the game. It's ok though, as I know how to hold my ground. Silly people thinking that I stink at games.

Doesn't change the point though: comment on reviews more, it makes the reviewers happy to know you actually read it and liked it :D

Ah but it changes alot. A negative review to a "Awesome" game will attract more people. And you can see that from your reviews.

You reviewed WC3 you gave it a positive review you get some comments.
Fallout 3 positive review some comments.
Mirrors Edge/indigo Prophecy was mixed feelings it got some comments.(Doesnt matter cause they arent that good to start with: :p)
Max payne very negative review alot of comments.

If you want you can try with Dawn of War or Deus Ex for you next review. Give them a negative review and people will comment on them more.

I'm loathe to think that just making negative reviews gets you comments/views. I'd like to think that I wrote a good review, and posted it at the right time. I'm probably wrong though... I try to mention all the good and bad points I can think of when writing reviews to make it more balanced. Payne just ground my gears the wrong way in every sense, so you didn't see me be kind to it.

I haven't played Ex yet, but I liked DoW. So it'd be kinda hard for me to rip on it :D

Next up is Braid. You will see fairly good comments on it from me, but there are issues...

I thought Braid was decent, but... wait. That's for my own thread :D

But yes, I wanted to do JE. IT SCREAMS AT ME FROM STEAM. It's just that for some reason the review isn't coming out right. Perhaps it needs a few more days to simmer... while I write some other stuff that flows a little more.

It's really a wonderful game, I can't count the time I played MC 1 before 2 came out.
