The only music festival I've been to, is bloodstock in 2010 and it was an excellent weekend, best experience of the festival has to be the jig pits in korpiklanni, they were insane and the pits for cannibal corpse were hell on earth. I would love to go back there this year the line up looks amazing and the atmosphere was brilliant, its a pity i'm saving my money for uni though.

My god, I remember that set. it ranks in my top 3 live music moments of all time even though I dislocated my knee in one of the circlepits god I miss being young and stupid.

Bloodstock was wonderful in the early days, you could park next to your tent and drink with the bands I got absolutely wasted with Korpiklanni one year. Last went 3 years ago they have stopped booking the bands I like now (Folk Metal FTW) and as i no longer get holiday pay a festival const like £1300 if I include lost wages. The GF is off to Download in a few weeks though and is proper stoked for it

@op: for Glastonbury: take money, lots of money seriously burgers ect can easily run to £8 so its easy to shoot through whatever you take with you really fast. Also if you are not already planning it, take some food for the first few days at least it will help you save some money.

Yeah, I've learnt that from going to Leeds. From what I've read on the efestivals Glastonbury forum, most people are saying that if you shop around a bit a bit further out from the main stages you can get food a little cheaper.

Although I'm not a festival veteran by a long shot, I've got used to how to survive them.

Not going to any this year, since my summer plans won't allow for that, but I have plans for going to Tomorrowland in Belgium next year.

As for festivals I've been to, I was at Roskilde Festival in 2007, Wacken Open Air 2007 and 2008, Creamfields 2011 and 2012. All of them was awesome really, Roskilde for introducing me to Cult of Luna, Wacken 08 for finally being able to see Iron Maiden, Creamfields 11 and 12 for Mat Zo, Above & Beyond and Prydz. I prefer the shorter festivals like Creamfields, though. I'm not all that crazy about staying in a field and sleeping in a tent for an extended period of time.

Download this year, Sonisphere 2011 but that's it. Sonisphere was awesome; got me into Biffy Clyro and Slipknot's stage show was pretty cool. Looking forward to QotSA this year

I found it funny how everyone bitched about Biffy headlining and came away loving them ^^

It was fairly hilarious, I myself am ashamed that I didn't even know of Biffy before that festival *facepalm*. Obviously I now own all of their albums

On topic: I may now also be going to Reading this year too With all due respect though I'll probably be giving Eminem a miss.

(Also, just a mini brag, not a festival but I'm off to see Rush tomorrow for free, which is awesome.)

But I dont want to get sunburnt and sweaty, so I will watch it HD on TV.
