The Fugees are awesome. I remember listening to them with my sister whilst playing Sonic the Hedgehog and Alex the Kidd.DustyDrB said:Fugees Snip
Haha, fair enough. With regards to chart music though, there are definitely merits to some of the "generic pop" that is produced. I don't know what the American charts look like but in the UK we've got some good stuff near the top. Say what you like about Lady Gaga's craziness but she's got talent in what she does, and Ed Sheeran is also pretty good.hecticpicnic said:It was mainly just an exaggeration flexing my vocabulary, but when i look at charts(mainly the the American ones) i'm upset at the quality, most songs are generic crap, and when i see that people actually listen to this stuff i'm surprised, to me liking that stuff is like liking a movie like twilight(it's like junk food for the brain).
I guess your right though about the whole shuffle thing.
And in regards to variety most of the posts i've seen here, the music has been generally in the same vain.
TBH i'm just a music snob![]()
Being popular and in the charts doesn't necessarily make something bad. Being a music "snob" - only listening to music that is supposed to be "clever" or something - and believing that anything "pop" related is without merits is probably worse than having a narrow taste in music. From my experience, the people who pretentiously boast about the "awesome" variety of music that they listen to, but shun all "low-brow" forms, are bigger dicks than the people who only listen to one or two specific genres.
This isn't an indictment of you because I can be guilty of doing the same thing. Not so much nowadays, but when I was at college I was a snobby ************ lol.
