Music News???

Just wondering what you guys/girls use to keep up to date on music news.
More specifically news and info on bands that MTV or Rolling Stone don't even know exist, aside from going directly to the bands myspace page.

I am a fan of theprp.com and Outburn Magazine but they only cover so much.

Suggestions?

Nothing what so ever, unless you count the actual band's website. That would be the only way I find out about music I like. So you could try that, some bands refrence other bands and say whats going on.

Well there have been a lot of great releases this year in music.

Amesoeurs Self titled album is damn good
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Self titled is pretty good too
Dredg just released a new album, the pariah, the parrot, the delusion
The Dear Hunter is coming out with a new album later this week (already leaked, its damn good too)

I just keep track of the bands I like and just keep my ear to the ground in general. I doubt anyone's going to put "People in Planes" in their magazine just yet.

This this, I mean randomly I'll google search my favorite band to see what they are up to and I'll use Pandora to find new music, but other than that nothing.

I still catch The Headbangers Ball on MTV. Not as good as it used to be, I blame the current metal trends, but at least it's music.

For smaller bands, the bands themselves, and myspace. For larger bands I tend to rely on my friends, as they are more into the music scene as a whole, and they'll tell me if anything good is coming up.

VH1 Classic or whatever has good shit playing sometimes.

I'm ashamed to say I actually was introduced to one of my favorite bands through MTV.

they got a dayly updated news section, plenty of album reviews of any genre, good interviews,
forthcoming album release date, tour dates ...etc.
they have a paper edition also(wich is free), but i dont think its available outside of canada.
