Ok so basically in 5 weeks I need to do a performance for school, it needs to be instrumental and guitar orientated and a backing track needs to be available. I can play acoustic or electric but probably would prefer electric. I'm pretty good but I wont be able to do any insane shred pieces. So with that in mind can you guys help suggest some songs? I'll play any sort of style except metal, at least nothing too heavy. Thanks alot.

What about little wing from Jimi Hendrix, that sounds nice. I don't know if it is difficult though.

Uh, Smoke on the Water maybe?

Or Slither by Velvet Revolver.

I don't play instruments, so I don't know what a backing track is, but those two songs were played at my schools talent show by a kid.

As I always do when someone asks, I'm gonna say anything by AC/DC. Simple but awesome.

But there's also some wicked stuff by ZZ Top that might fit. La Grange has got some solid riffs and guitar interplay.

"Somewhere over the Rainbow"
If you play it like Yngwie Malmsteen.
"Beethovens 5th" - Joe Satriani
Everybody knows it and you can vary the difficulty.
Or just take a look at any Malmsteen, Satriani or Vai record.
They're exeptional guitarists and the range of pieces they have covered is very large.
And most of it you can easily alter, depending on your skills

Play some Jazz.

It'll set you apart from all the other shredlords out there.
