So I've pretty much run out of music to listen to due to the very limited number of artists that I listen to. Does anyone here at the Escapist have any music recommendations for me? I like Muse, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Rise Against, Billy Talent, Shinedown, The Killers, and The White Stripes. Thanks for any help.

One name: Jonathon Coulton. He writes... different music, not so much about the money he can get (I think he sells them mostly on iTunes, and has most if not all of his songs under creative commons), but more about whatever the heck he wants. Although most of them are "off" in some way, he's pretty dedicated. A while back, he even performed an "experiment" called Thing a Week where he released one song a week for a year.

Eh, maybe I'm just biased towards the guy who wrote a song about one bad-ass fucking fractal, DNA, and everything else under the sun.

-Weezer if you're feeling like some pure untouched punk rock.

-System of a Down if you don't mind a little bit of yelling and want a message or your music to have a brain.

-My Chemical Romance for some high level alternative emo.

-The Decemberists if you're into Ballad-esque, storytelling pieces with a heart as well as a brain.

-Cage the Elephant if you want Indie semi-smart fun music.

And if you really want to put yourself out there, check out Basshunter and Eiffel65, maybe even Deadmau5 if you want some good House/Electronica.

Let me know if you end up liking any of these.
