Do you not hate it when you remember a bit of music you liked and then you try to find it again and you can't remember. I just spent 90 minutes looking for this

when all I could remember was honey and silver trainers.

Anyone else get that? remember the piece of music that you were tring to recall? Do you need help finding a piece of music? all post here.

Are you trying for a thread a bit like this massively popular one with games [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.195333-Games-you-cant-remember-but-still-miss-describe-them#6256543]...

I get that often, thanks to radio or a random flashback. Few years back it was difficult when you couldn't just search on Google for the little bit of lyrics you remembered of.

Latest songs I had to look for like that were Beck - Loser, David Bowie - Starman and the theme from Terry's Big Adventure on Amiga.

A bit more information might be useful... what sort of music, male/female vocals, old or recent? All I can tell you from that little bit is that it's not Bloc Party or The Birthday Party.

I usually try to force myself to remember at least some part of the lyrics, if I hear a song in the radio, for example, and know I must search for it later.

That works great, unless the lyrics you've remembered are something like "I love you..." or "Baby, baby, baby, ooh baby, baby, baby, baby, ooh baby..."

Are you talking about Black Flag? They released a single called TV Party, which the cover kind of resembles what you described.

There was this one song I heard in a film.

The only things I can remember are trains and money, and it wasn't the first time I'd heard it.

There aren't enough clues there for you to find it, so don't bother, but it still risk me sometimes - even though I can't remember how it sounded.

The film could be Money Train - I don't remember a lot about the film but the soundtrack sticks in my mind for some reason.

Sadly, it isn't.

Thanks for trying despite the odds, however, some people just thrive on adversity =P

There's a Beatles song called "I Will", and I noticed that a two measure section had a guitar part similar to a section of some other song, but I couldn't for the life of me remember which song it was, or who did it. After months, I heard finally heard the song on the radio. It was "My Best Friend's Girl" by The Cars.

I never noticed that before... shame on me. Absolutely right though. Sticking with the White Album theme, it sort of reminds me how I hear the piano part from 'Sexy Sadie' in Radiohead's 'Karma Police'.

Nope I didn't think yes just swich games with music. As I did just think you know I'm sure people forget music. They are (usually) exposed to more of it and I had just spent ages looking for simian.

Anyway http://www.xfm.co.uk/artists This might be a good place for you to look next time. It has a list of artists that xfm (a indie/ rock) radio stn in London & Manchester UK. Therefore may help you a little next time. It helped me.

This thread just remind me of this music which I had still can't remember the name! All I can remember is that it was a good dance music (I think it was early 00's). I think it was done by a French artist and the video was pretty much aliens invading planet Earth and the aliens were penguin.
Oh yeah it was a month ago that I forgot the name to the song below and it took me the hours to find the title online (this song is awesome!!!).

It was merely my first impression, and I wasn't all that serious at guessing your motives for this thread. Just thought of asking and even if you were trying that at the same time as making this actually very useful thread, it wouldn't bother me (like that would matter). Just saying that there are a bunch of users in these forums who put up misleading titles, controversial topics, news thread hijacks, and so on... Not much one can do about it. But this is a useful thread. Let's hope there'll be more listeners in distress.

I'm afraid the link does little to help me as I've never even heard an English radio station, but cheers nonetheless. The radio stations here tend to have (at least the two I listen to) great websites as well. With different settings of playlists, for example, and snippets for especially the kind of problem as hearing a good song on the radio and not knowing what's it's name.
