Look up Enya, she's an Irish (I think) singer. I can't understand most of what she says in her songs but they all have a lovely soothing melody.

This is one of those songs which I can just melt away to. It feels so intimate that its like its coming from within.

Also, I've never heard a song that so accurately captures the ambiance of late nights as this:

lads, we're trying to put the lad to sleep! i love metal just as much as ye do, but he'll never get to sleep if he's rocking out!

hence, i give you:

the irony is that the song is about a guy who has insomnia, and yet it's very soothing and relaxing. also:

what a song. so calming, and that crescendo at the end is so calming.

Voltaire is the absolute best, Alucard.

Echochrome has some really nice music; I've been listening to #919 with drums added.

Falling to sleep to this is one of the most surreal experiences I've ever... experienced. Everyone should give it a go.

I realize Rap isn't the most popular genre for this website, but I've been enjoying Kid Cudi's albums recently. It's nice to turn off the lights and just listen.
Kid Cudi is awesome :) And i'm not even a rap fan...except maybe Lupe Fiasco

If I can't sleep, I get up. I don't try to force it, that just ends with me tossing and turning for hours.

For some reason this song is so peaceful for me...I could sleep to this if I listened to music when sleeping.

I slept to Saki Kaska - Callista a few times & I'm happy when I wake up to it too. I first heard it in ME2 on Omega.

Right before going to bed I listen to anything but once I'm in I et my mp3 payer to play some Pink Floyd or Dream Theater at low volume and then turn itself off after half an hour. Normally I listen to Octavarium by Dream Theater because it starts off very slow and quiet and is a very happy piece and although it's 20 minutes long I can guarantee I'll be asleep before it finishes.

Or early Opeth albums

Great sleeping tracks
You're right, but IMO Damnation is even better from Opeth when it comes to sleeping tracks.

Whole Opeth is amazing anyway.
