When (target) shooting i have found it helpful to have relaxing music to help me zone out and not think too much (and therefore shoot better).
Currently the song i listen to is 'Where were you' - Jeff Beck with Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas

Any suggestions for similar music and when do you feel the need to zone out.

NACP [http://notacleverpony.bandcamp.com/] is quite good. You don't have to be a brony to enjoy his stuff, it's pretty neutral to the show, just inspired by it. It's easy to listen to without any kind of brain function.
The Field is also pretty easy listening as things go. Once more, not a lot of higher brain function required, just nice noises.

I prefer to listen to female vocalists if I want to zone out, the male voice is just a bit too heavy for me to relax to.

While some of her stuff is pretty heavy (mostly from her old grungy like stuff from Dry, and Rid of me) I find PJ Harvey to be rather relaxing, especially her newer stuff, and some of her songs from is this desire? Which i'm really digging at the moment.

Also, check out Warpaint (one of my favs, mind you), they do some proper chilled out arty rock stuff, and they are an all female band who are actually really great. Be sure to have a bong, and bag of weed at the ready though, hehe.

I've also met them twice, shook hands with all of them, and attested my undying love for the singer.

Yeah...I think I'm a fanboy.

Ed Harrison.

The full CD is about two and a half hours of pure bliss. It is the best CD I ever bought, no question, and I will always tell people to give it a listen.

Pretty much anything by Enya should work? I haven't heard her songs since I was a kid, but I recall them all being relaxing as hell.

Isaac Shepard. Top two favourites:

Edited to add: While he's great about basically making his stuff free, his albums ARE on iTunes...

I'm quite a fan of the Doctor Who soundtrack, more specifically the Specials from Series 4 (including the Death and Regeneration of David Tennant, to which the background music is below), and Series 5, the one before the latest one for UK, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan's first series. That seems to be relaxing me this week. I'll find something else to get next week.

And needless to say too, there's always the Zero Punctuation or Unskippable theme's for a quick pick-me-up. xD
