I'll throw a few in:

The Ozric Tentacles, kinda electronica but mainly done on 'real' instruments.

Staying on the electro theme,

and I particularly love this, from the game 'Chime', a blend of classical and electro from Phil Hartnoll, half of Orbital. They seem to find the greatest female vocalists to fit their work.

Lastly , something acoustic to balance all the techno.

An underrated bunch I think, the Kings of Convenience. (first version I found was an electro remix by Royksopp after all that...it's good, but after trying to step away from the electro it didn't really fit.)

I'm strange in liking a lot of dance music, while hating almost anything that gets played in nightclubs. Seriously hate all that 'club anthems' stuff, but love a lot of electronica, all the same.

New, cool technology that uses beats <sidebar: I heard, one time, previous generations used consistent drum beats to mood themselves> to put your brain into a state [like binaural beats, but works without headphones]..

Picture of the BrainAmp series:

Google "iMusic Volition".

Digressing, "MaxRelax"..

BTW, for those above me, to link youtube vids it is :

youtubev

where 'v' is the equals sign and the characters after it.

Then enclose all that in these [ ].

quote my above post to see how it works if you'd like :)

Essentially [ youtube=abcdefgh ] without the spaces.

The single chillest rap song I've ever heard.

Sublime is pretty chill a lot of the time too, especially Santeria which is the single chillest song about shooting some poor bastard named Sancho.

Just happened to be something I was listening to recently:

As long as the juxtaposed heavy, processed beats don't ruin it for you, it's got a brilliant spacy atmosphere.

@TheYellowCellPhone Woo! Homestuck!!!

I'm a total snob, so I like classical music to wind down. Claire de Lune is always calming, as is this:

I don't know if you have bejeweled 3, but the music in the Zen section is really soothing.

This pretty much, not many other parts of it on youtube and this is probably the best one. Never heard the whole 7 hour album though, only the shortened one.

Also I'd like to add this is why this site is great, start a thread like this and never get the same response from anyone. Chances are after visting this you'll have found a few new music artists that you like.

Here is a song, if you're into the downtempo genre.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uof34no4cDI

It's one of my favorites, has a nice flow to it.

Well there goes the majority of the post I was going to make. Currently listening to Mystline, gods that song is good.

The Punch Brothers also make a lot of relaxed songs, next to their very uptempo songs. Notably this song:

Also jazz, the mellow stuff like this:

Pink Floyd's The Division Bell album is excellent to zone out to as well:

Also Shira Kammen, known from the Braid soundtrack:

And some Daft Punk for good measure:

There, that's a nice little list I reckon.
