I don't really know how to answer that since I like ''good'' music.
me and my friends have a pretty good definition of what ''good'' music is but it's more a mutual understanding we have.

Last week I found out how awesome the Beatles were and now i'm obsessed with them. I never really listened to them before and now I think they are one of the greatest bands of all time.

I generally like Rock/indie/Alternative music such as The Arctic monkeys, The Killers, Muse and the such. It is just pleasant to listen to. I don't like Metal unlike everyonelse on this website.

I grew up listening to punk rock, namely The Clash, Rancid, Rise Against, AFI, Against Me! etc etc
Around 18 I started branching out into hardcore and metalcore. I'm 20 now and these are currently my favourite genres of music

My current favourite bands are: Parkway Drive, The Gaslight Anthem, Killswitch Engage, Cancer Bats, Biffy Clyro, AFI, Gallows, Architects and Alexisonfire

Oddly enough my favorite band is radically different from all my other music. Emilie Autumn is essentially in her own genre and I fell in love the second the heard her music, I'm going to a show in Toronto in Febuary and driving about 4 hours to get there.

Other then her I generally listen to a mix of Rock (Generally 80's and 90's), techno, classical, and Idk, epic? (Just looks up Two steps from hell and you'll understand.)

I like having a diverse taste in music, it keeps things fresh

Big fan of most types of metal (other than black metal) and hard rock, techno is pretty awesome every once in a while and there are a few rappers that I can stand though not many.

I enjoy a wide variety of music. I like to discover new music.

However, I find that most of my music collection consists of Post Rock, Shoegaze Rock, and sprinklings of metal. I have a little bit of everything though.

I mostly listen to Alternative-rock: Coldplay (my favorite), The Killers, Muse, among many others. I also have the entire Ocarina of Time Re-orchestrated soundtrack, as well as the Super Smash Bros. Brawl and TWEWY OSTs that I enjoy listening to on occasion.

Pretty much any kinda music except for excessively profane, classical (I dont know why, it just doesnt sit well with me, I think its the way there's so much power in an orchestra), and music by artists by people like Kenya West. The ones iwth over inflated egos that need a reality check.

As for my favs over all? The new (alt.) rock stuff this generation is putting out is good. Stuff like Phoenix, Kings of Leon, Mumford and Sons, Owl City, those kinds.

Also like 90s rock (wallflowers, Smashing Pumpkins, Sick puppies).

And Grunge. Love Grunge. Nirvana, AiC (favorite band), and Pearl Jam. God... the 90s were an amazing time to grow up in.

I am a musical whore. I listen to everything and enjoy at least one song out of every genre.

Admittedly I am not cool enough to have heard enough music to back up that claim, but still. I enjoy sounds.

Mainly I enjoy all variants of metal, but electronic music, industrial, good pop, classic rock, alternative rock, punk, and some rap (about 25 percent of it is good) also suit my tastes fine.

But most of the time, you'll find me listening to metal.

Anything progressive is a good thing as well.
