if you could control the music industry as a whole hypotheticaly... and could create a music supergroup of any members of any band regardless how rediculous... what would your supergroup be?

i know supergroups can tend to suck lately, but just pretend with me that band meshing wouldnt be an issue

oh and dont just flat out say a musician sucks.. unless u can prove they do... with science?

as a metal head, mine would have to be

tim ripper owens- vocals
kerry king- rythm...wish it could be dimebag...
jeff loomis- lead
ryan martinie-bass... had to look his name up... but mudvaynes bass is intricate as hell
vinnie paul- drums

the band would be to intense for it's own good but god damn would it be amazing...

what would your yardbirds supergroup look like?

If you did that, I would make one fronted by Rob Halford, just out of spite. Priest just isn't Priest without Halford.

But at any rate, I would have:

David Coverdale (from Whitesnake) on vocals. OR Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row)

A four-part guitar section consisting of:

Rudolf Schenker (from Scorpions)
Chris DeGarmo (from Queensryche)
Glenn Tipton (from Judas Priest)
George Lynch (from Dokken)

Lemmy Kilmister on Bass and backup vocals (from Motorhead)

Scott Columbus on drums (from Manowar)

I don't think I could top the super group that is Cream but I?ll try,
Jim Morrison-vocals
Bonzo Bonham- drums/ Failing that Ginger Baker
John Paul Jones-bass (he just syncs with Bonham)
Pete Townshend- rhythm guitar
Angus young- for the unstoppable solo's
George Gershwin- for all piano related shenanigans.
And finally Ian Anderson, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie and Dave Brubeck for the blowing section.

I like to look at Dream Theater as a musical supergroup. All of the members are extremely talented.

It already exists, thanks to Magnus Karlson combining his guitar-playing and songwriting with Jorn Lande and Russell Allen's vocals - the greatness that is the Allen/Lande collaboration exceeds my grasp on the English language to adequately describe.

Also, Ayreon. 01011001 has so many of my favorite vocalists on it that it's like Arjen made that album specifically for me (so awesome!).
