I re-upped my Rhapsody sub today in order to rebuild my music collection from shambles, but like most times, when I'm able to actually accomplish something, I blank.

So, fellow Escapists, suggest music for me to acquire.

Devin Townsend. Especially the album, Ocean Machine, most of the other stuff is good, especially if you're into metal, but get Ocean Machine no matter what music you usually listen to, as it is pure amazingness.

Well what do you like? Can't make a recommendation if I don't know you taste.
I'm pretty open to listen to just about anything outside of straight up pop music, most country and most rap.

I recommend Japandroids to everyone. They're a loud, good natured mess of distorted guitars and goofy singalongs about getting drunk and hitting on French girls and being happy about things. I enjoy them immensely.

They can shout at the audience all they want about being punk rock, but they're emo.

I'd suggest Pink Floyd, especially DSotM, which is a must-have for any collection.
how can you call danger days emo?
''there fine with being in the emo movement at the time but there glad that movement has went away and they can just be a rock and roll band now'',

Speaking of Rhapsody, listen to them. Now called Rhapsody of Fire, they've split up into two to form another band called 'Luca Turilli's Rhapsody.' They work in the genre of Symphonic Metal, often branching off into Power and Cinematic.

Think, your typical metal band meets a full choir and orchestra. Top it all off with an epic fantasy or science fiction setting and you have Rhapsody.
