Basically Italy has decided to criminalise illegal immigration, punishable by a hefty fine and presumable deportation, and harbouring illegal immigrants could land you 3 years in jail.

Now, criminalising illegal immigration in itself is in itself not a bad move...hence the term 'illegal' in 'illegal immigrants'. But I still agree it's not the best solution to hand out large fines and jail terms.

However, the worst part is that that bill also allows citizens patrols to search for these immigrants, echoing procedures used by both Hitler and Mussolini. Now, these patrols are supposed to be unarmed, but you would still imagine that the people involved won't be too bothered about using force to remove illegal immigrants.

I am not against it. America could use more of this type of action herself. The Southwest of America is getting uglier each and every day due to those who walk across our borders.

Funny thing is, people take offense and such to policies which appear to "against rights" and all that jazz, but in the end it's being properly used. Therefore I have no true opinion against it.

Yeah, but in all seriousness nobody really patrols anything, it's just a couple of nationalistic nuts in the north. But still, I'm against criminalising illegal immigration, doesn't solve anything.

Anyway, you can count on me grabbing my gun and running for the hills once Mussolini 2.0 comes to power.

I thought the whole world has criminalised illegal immigration :-O since i see yanks go on and on about mexicans jumping "over the fence" ,but i agree with Italy it should be done,and until guys in black shirts march from Milan to Rome taking power theres no musolini

But they didnt actaully march... they got there in lorries so they could get away quicker if it went tits up and Mussolini arrived by train after everyone else so he coudlnt get in trouble if it went tits up
