Basically exactly what it sounds like. I have a PS3 and I'm going to have some extra money from the holiday next week so I'm thinking of getting a few blu-ray movies. I'm sure there have to be some movies that are just so 'omgamazing' that they are awesome on blu-ray. Currently I only own Sucker Punch and Inception so I'm looking for a few recommendations.

They're the same movies as normal, they just look better. Blu-Ray doesn't make crappy movies any better. Avatar is always a good choice. As a small note, theres no E in Blu-Ray.

Well, if you liked Sucker Punch, you should get the Watchmen extended blu-ray. Other then that, the Serenity blu-ray has an interesting picutre-in-picture commentary. I personally like the Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and Scott Pilgrim blu-rays as well.

Well some have extended cut versions that aren't on DVD (such as Sucker Punch), interesting picture-in picture commentaries (Sucker Punch and Watchmen are both really good for that), and a few other interesting features.

Well yeah, special features and stuff are mostly better, but my point was that if the normal movie wasn't any good, it still wouldn't be a good movie.

Watchmen
Alien box set (pretty much just for the first 2)
The Man With No Name Trilogy
The Thing
The Dark Knight
Predator

I've discovered that older films benefit quite a lot from blu-ray editions. If there's an older film that you like to see made pretty, the conversions are USUALLY pretty good.

AVOID:
Independence Day (while you may or may not enjoy the film, seeing it in SUPER HIGH DEF makes it look ten times worse)
The Devils Rejects (I was excited to see it in blu-ray, but I haven't found a single copy of it that works in my PS3)

Yeah but, Watchmen was actually good...

Here are some I've enjoyed on BD.

V For Vendetta

SinCity

Kung Fu Hustle

Inglourious Basterds

Fight Club

Event Horizon

Blade Runner

A.I. Artificial Intelligence

Well, what kind of movies do you like?
I'm pretty open to all genres to be honest. I've seen a lot of movies because my brother works in a theater so I've seen quite a bit.

Didn't even think of TDK so that's one I'm going to look into. Keep the suggestions coming!
